Businesses will be fined if they do not register and notify e-commerce websites.

Deputy Director of An Giang Department of Industry and Trade Huynh Ngoc Ho has just signed Official Dispatch 1264/SCT-QLTM, reiterating the request to carry out the procedures for registering and notifying e-commerce websites with the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Specifically, Article 5 of Circular 47/2014/TT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Article 1 of Circular 01/2022/TT-BCT (amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular 47/2014/TT-BCT) stipulates the responsibility for performing notification and registration procedures of traders, organizations and individuals owning e-commerce websites. In particular, traders, organizations and individuals setting up e-commerce websites for sale are required to perform notification procedures or register e-commerce websites with the Ministry of Industry and Trade according to regulations. In case the enterprise fails to do so, it will be subject to administrative penalties; the website may even be banned from operating permanently.

Previously, the Department of Industry and Trade issued Official Letter 452/SCT-QLTM requesting to carry out the procedures for registering and notifying e-commerce websites to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. However, many An Giang enterprises have built sales websites but have not carried out the registration notification procedures as prescribed; some cases have been inspected and handled by the provincial market management force.

The Department of Industry and Trade requests that enterprises, production and business establishments, cooperatives, cooperatives, and business households (that have built e-commerce websites) promptly carry out the procedures for registering or notifying the Ministry of Industry and Trade of e-commerce websites. All traders, organizations, and individuals must notify the Ministry of Industry and Trade of e-commerce websites for sale established by the traders, organizations, and individuals themselves, to serve trade promotion activities and advertise information about their goods and services.
