From this determination, up to now, the linkage in producing high-quality rice has brought initial results.

*Focus on quality
In recent times, rice cultivation activities in the province have been transformed towards improving productivity and quality. Many models of linking production and consumption of high-quality rice have been formed and achieved positive results. In particular, enterprises play an important role in linking with cooperatives and farmers to participate in high-quality rice production. Notably, HK Trading Company Limited has implemented models of linking rice production according to the Large Field model in Go Cong Dong district, Go Cong Tay district, Go Cong town, Cai Lay town... Mr. Chau Minh Hai, Director of HK Trading Company Limited, said that the company is currently implementing linkages in production and consumption of rice throughout the province with an area of 1,800 - 2,300 hectares (depending on the crop). In this model, the company will guide farmers to produce in an organic direction. The company will support farmers in improving the soil, taking care of it, and fertilizing it appropriately in each region. Input investment is determined from the beginning of the season so that farmers can see that costs will be lower than traditional production. What is more important is to ensure farmers' health, create clean rice grains, and ensure environmental hygiene. In addition, the company also introduces and guarantees output for cooperatives. Currently, the company has successfully linked up to build a model of organic rice cultivation VD 20 Go Cong and Uncle Keo branded rice. These two rice products have been certified with 4-star OCOP.
Thanh Loi Agricultural Cooperative (My Hanh Trung Commune, Cai Lay Town) is a unit that has been implementing a chain of rice production and consumption linkages with HK Trading Company Limited for many years. The Cooperative has cooperated with HK Trading Company Limited to produce rice in an organic direction with an area of about 50 hectares. "HK Trading Company Limited supplies rice seeds and agricultural materials to farmers. In the model, cooperative members are instructed to use certified seeds, reduce sowing seeds, reduce nitrogen fertilizers, use biosafety drugs... Over time, the rice has grown well, increased productivity and higher profits than outside the model" - said the leader of Thanh Loi Agricultural Cooperative.
Recently, My Quoi Agricultural Production Service Cooperative (Hau My Bac B commune, Cai Be district) has proactively linked enterprises and farmers to participate in the production and consumption chain of high-quality rice. Accordingly, the Cooperative has signed contracts to link product consumption with enterprises such as VFC Company, Phuoc Loc Thien Ho Company Limited in supplying input materials, consuming output products for farmers in the Large Field model with a rice production area of about 525 hectares. The Cooperative has promoted the application of scientific and technical advances in production; using certified varieties level 1; the program "3 reductions, 3 increases", "1 must, 5 reductions" to help reduce input costs and increase productivity and quality for members. In particular, the Cooperative has worked with Phuoc Loc Thien Ho Company Limited to build a rice consumption chain. The project has a scale of 100 hectares with 90 participating households. The cooperative has built a model of safe rice production in the direction of organic, applying high technology, contributing to improving the quality and building the rice brand. Currently, two rice products ST24, Nang Hoa 9 of Phuoc Loc Thien Ho Company Limited in association with the cooperative have been recognized as 4-star OCOP products.

*Going deeper and deeper
According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) of Tien Giang province, the province currently has more than 54,000 hectares of rice land, with an annual planting area of about 130,000 hectares and a harvest output of nearly 800,000 tons. In recent years, the rice planting area has fluctuated in a downward direction, as people have converted ineffective rice planting areas to other suitable crops for higher efficiency. Although the rice planting area has decreased, the yield and quality of rice are increasing, meeting the requirements of the export market. In particular, the provincial Department of Agriculture has focused on increasing the value of rice production, promoting the application of science and technology in production. Specifically, using certified varieties, high-quality varieties; applying the program "3 reductions, 3 increases", "1 must, 5 reductions"; producing in a safe direction, using ecological technology to manage brown planthoppers and viral diseases on rice. At the same time, promote mechanization of land preparation, care, harvesting, and rice drying...
In addition, the province has also paid attention to implementing many programs, plans, projects and rice development projects such as: Project to build "High-tech rice production area for the period 2018 - 2020 and orientation to 2025"; Project "Crop cutting, crop conversion and crop structure in the eastern districts of Tien Giang province to 2025"; Plan to develop agriculture applying science - technology, high technology, organic agriculture for the period 2022 - 2025, orientation to 2030. Towards this, the province is participating in the Project "Sustainable development of one million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta region to 2030" chaired by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to contribute to increasing the value of rice grains...
According to the assessment of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in general, rice production in the province is increasingly going into depth, quality and production profits are increasing. In the past 5 years, rice productivity has increased from 1.2 - 2.2 quintals/ha, combined with high rice prices, production profits have increased by about 15 million VND/ha compared to 5 years ago. In recent times, the building of rice brands has always been responded to by the agricultural sector and enterprises, aiming to position the value and image of Vietnamese rice products. Up to now, the province has built a certified brand for "Go Cong" rice with 4 rice varieties: VD 20, Nang Hoa 9, OM 4900, OM 5451 in the eastern production area.
In the coming time, the agricultural sector will continue to effectively implement approved programs, plans, projects and rice development projects. At the same time, promote the application of advanced technical advances, quality varieties, new technology, and smart technology in rice production.
