"Destination" for international tourists
In the final days, even as the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 approaches, the atmosphere at the Spring Fair remains quite lively. Notably, not only are buyers and sellers bustling, as evidenced by the strong increase in domestic purchasing power, but business meetings are also taking place right at the booths.
Mr. Dang Thanh Thien Hau - Director of Fanza Bird's Nest Company Limited ( An Giang ) - shared: “After the opening, sales weren't very high for the first 1-2 days. But by the 3rd-4th day, people started shopping more. Especially last Saturday and Sunday, it was very crowded. My staff stood from morning till night, selling all day long, it was very lively.”
Revenue from the weekend alone reached 40-50 million VND per day, a significant figure for a high-end product with a relatively small consumer segment like bird's nest. However, according to Mr. Hau, what is even more valuable than retail revenue are the export opportunities opened up by the trade fair.

Fanza originally aimed to export 80-90% of its production, primarily to China, the Asian American community, Cambodia, and soon Taiwan (China). Given the impact of trade tensions in China over the past two years, leading to a decline in demand for high-end products, finding new channels has become an urgent necessity.
“The organizers have combined the event with bringing foreign business delegations to visit the fair, which I think is a good idea. Besides selling Tet goods, businesses want to connect with each other and with export businesses. This is an opportunity to promote exports more strongly in 2026,” Mr. Hau said.
At the trade fair, Fanza met with two Chinese companies that have invested in factories in Vietnam and already have distribution systems in the Chinese market. “They requested a large quantity of bird's nests. Both sides are currently quoting prices and working together. Importantly, they praised the product quality and the price as suitable,” Mr. Hau informed.
In addition, an intermediary exporting bird's nests to China has also expressed interest in acquiring refined and processed bird's nests for their distribution channels. "With this intermediary, the cooperation negotiations are almost 90% complete. The remaining 10% involves surveying the distribution system in China and the final step of shipping the goods," Mr. Hau revealed.

For businesses with existing investment capital and distribution systems in China, Mr. Hau assesses the "success rate to be quite high." This presents an opportunity for Vietnamese products to enter Chinese supermarkets in a systematic way, instead of relying entirely on intermediaries.
At the Ho Chi Minh City booth, Mr. To Cong - Business Director of Phong Thao Agricultural and Medicinal Herbs Import-Export Co., Ltd. - also noted similar positive results.
Phong Thao brought noni fruit products combined with local medicinal herbs to the fair. “ After the opening ceremony, our brand received excellent promotion. Not only domestic but also foreign visitors came to see the products, and sales were quite good ,” Mr. To said.
Notably, the company has been in contact with clients from China and South Korea – markets where the company has previously exported. “Clients want to showcase clean Vietnamese agricultural products and medicinal herbs at exhibitions in China. They hope for deeper cooperation between the two sides to find the best solutions for Vietnamese businesses to exhibit in their country,” Mr. Cong shared.
High expectations for the business.
According to Mr. Hau, this is the third time Fanza has participated in events organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, from the A80 exhibition to the Autumn Fair and now the Spring Fair. “I find the organization very good. From transportation, electric vehicles taking visitors in and out, to security, everything is ensured. The products we sell are absolutely safe. Visitors can shop with peace of mind.”
This meticulous attention to detail not only serves domestic customers but also makes a good impression on foreign partners. "Whether customers come in person or just pass by, they are all important. Therefore, I set up my booth as beautifully and meticulously as possible," Mr. Hau shared.
From another perspective, Mr. To Cong highly appreciated the Ministry of Industry and Trade's orientation towards building a national-scale trade fair with international reach.
"When the Ministry organizes international trade fairs, our company has high expectations. Participating in these fairs allows us to network and build connections to promote trade with more countries."
In reality, for specialized products like bird's nest or medicinal herbs, reaching customers through online channels like Alibaba only yields average revenue and requires a long time to reach them. Meanwhile, meeting in person, verifying the product, and exchanging information directly at the booth significantly shortens the trust-building process.
The Spring Fair, therefore, is not just a short-term playground. It is a test of business capabilities, a place where Vietnamese products are put under the scrutiny of both domestic consumers and international partners.
Entering 2026, despite forecasts of many challenges, businesses still place their hopes on a new wave of promotion. " We expect to find international partners to boost exports in 2026 ," Mr. Hau said.
