Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh informed that Da Nang is organizing many special tourism activities, including the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024 taking place in June and July, and the "Enjoy Danang 2024" Festival taking place in July...
Currently, city tourism is growing continuously, affirming Da Nang as an attractive tourist destination.
Da Nang prioritizes attracting new technology projects, modern management, connecting global production and supply chains, thereby creating high added value and spillover effects.
To welcome foreign direct investment, Da Nang is focusing on attracting logistics, seaport and high-tech industries such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence - AI, automation, biotechnology, financial centers, financial technology, high-quality services (education, healthcare, tourism)...
The Government has submitted to the National Assembly a draft resolution on the organization of urban government and piloted a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city with about 30 policies.
Among them, the pilot policy to establish the Da Nang Free Trade Zone and the policy to develop microchips, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, information and communication, science and technology management, and innovation stand out.
The draft resolution proposes a plan to develop a free trade zone in Da Nang, which will include three functional areas: production; port logistics; and trade and services.
In addition, Software Park No. 2 is expected to come into operation in December 2024, creating conditions for the city to attract more information technology and high-tech enterprises.
Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh hopes that through today's meeting, the Singapore Business Federation in Vietnam will introduce many Singaporean investors and tourists to Da Nang to learn about the investment environment and experience tourism services.
At the same time, Singaporean enterprises investing in Da Nang can focus on research in priority areas that are in line with the city's development orientation such as semiconductors, AI, information technology, and innovation.
Ms. Amy Wee, Country Director in Vietnam of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), said that SBF is the largest business focal point in Singapore with 30,000 members.
SBF's aim is to support Singaporean small and medium enterprises to seek business opportunities globally and Vietnam is one of the top 3 countries of interest to Singapore.
The Singaporean government also has programs and guidelines to support businesses to develop in foreign markets, including Vietnam, specifically supporting costs when opening representative offices in other countries.
Currently, Singaporean investors are interested in the following sectors: education, manufacturing, retail and technology. In particular, Singaporean businesses highly appreciate the human resources in Vietnam that are well suited to the technology sector.
During this working trip, the Singapore Business Federation in Vietnam hopes to learn more information and investment potential in other provinces and cities of Vietnam besides Ho Chi Minh City, namely Da Nang in particular and the Central region in general.
Ms. Amy Wee hopes that there will be a working program or workshop to learn about the investment environment in Da Nang for Singaporean businesses organized by the city in the near future.
