Vietnamese enterprise successfully manufactures 500kV transformer

ANTD.VN - Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation has successfully designed and manufactured the 500kV transformer with the largest capacity on Vietnam's transmission grid. This is the first Vietnamese enterprise to produce this product.

On December 16, Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation (EEMC) held a ceremony to launch the factory and put up a signboard for the project "Design and manufacture of 500kV transformer - 3x300MVA" to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnam Electricity (December 21, 1954 - December 21, 2024).

Reporting at the ceremony, EEMC representative said: Based on the development of Vietnam's 500kV power transmission grid in recent years, transformers with capacity of 3x150MVA and 3x200MVA have been gradually replaced by transformers with capacity of 3x300MVA. Therefore, EEMC realized the need to soon conduct research and manufacture 500kV transformers with capacity of 3x300MVA to meet market demand.

With the goal of mastering the design and manufacturing technology of this large-capacity transformer, Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation has proposed and been approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology to implement the national pilot production project "Completing the design and manufacturing technology of 500kV-3x300MVA pressure transformer sets".

After implementing many work items to prepare for manufacturing, from building a 500kV laboratory, upgrading the factory, investing in technological equipment; from September 2024, the MBA production process was carried out urgently but cautiously under the close supervision of design and technology engineers to ensure the highest quality for this important product.

Up to now, after completing the manufacturing, the 500kV-3x300MVA transformer has been tested and passed all factory test items according to IEC standards.

This is the result of the creative working spirit and outstanding efforts of the collective of engineers and workers of Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation when for the first time a domestic enterprise successfully designed and manufactured the 500kV transformer with the largest capacity on Vietnam's transmission grid.

The successful design and manufacture of the 500kV - 3x300MVA transformer has helped EEMC train a team of design engineers, technology engineers, managers and skilled technical workers to master the technological equipment line for manufacturing 500kV transformers.

This success is also the premise for Dong Anh Equipment Corporation (EEMC) to continue to strive to research and develop new products such as: current transformers, voltage transformers, 500 kV electric resistors, clean gas insulated GIS stations, disconnecting switches... contributing to the localization of main electrical equipment on the Vietnamese power grid.
