Businessman Tran Ba Duong: 'Resolution 41 of the Politburo defines the role of entrepreneurs'

On October 11, in Hanoi, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Government Standing Committee met with representatives of Vietnamese businessmen to celebrate Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day (October 13). THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong delivered a speech at the conference.

Within the framework of the conference, outstanding entrepreneurs and representatives of nearly 100 business associations discussed the development of the business community, the connection and cooperation between businesses and business associations, the role and responsibility of entrepreneurs in developing businesses and contributing to the development of Vietnam, contributing to the realization of the goals and aspirations for national development set forth by the 13th National Party Congress. Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Ba Duong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of THACO Group said: "Personally, as a businessman with more than 40 years in the business world, I always thank the attention of the Party and State for the business community. I am very pleased with the contents of Resolution 41 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese business community in the new era".

According to Mr. Tran Ba Duong, the business community is very excited that the new Resolution continues to affirm the role and position of the business community and further promotes it as one of the core forces contributing to promoting the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. At the same time, the business community not only plays a role in building and developing an independent and self-reliant economy but is also assigned to contribute to ensuring national defense and security. In addition, it also plays a role in economic diplomacy and international integration.

The role and position of entrepreneurs in the new era are affirmed in the resolution, along with the country's position being raised in the international arena and the development goal of becoming a modern industrialized country with high average income by 2030 and by 2045, becoming a developed country with high income, an independent and self-reliant economy. The resolution also states that entrepreneurs in the new era must take ethics and business culture as the core, uphold the spirit of respect for the law, have patriotism, national self-reliance and the desire to contribute.

THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong emphasized: "As a businessman who owns a large-scale multi-industry corporation in the country, I pledge to continue to research and promote the spirit of the resolution in my business life and the role and position of the enterprise that I am in charge of leading and operating to develop sustainably and carry out a number of specific tasks set out in the resolution and strive to maintain a leading role in a number of key areas, aiming for an important position in the global value chain, industrial and agricultural value chain, based on the green economic model, circular economy.

The spirit of the resolution also identifies that promoting the role of the business community in association with developing the business community and enterprises is the responsibility of the entire political system. I realize that it is the responsibility of each business person and enterprise. We compete and cooperate with each other in an integrated environment to have our own business capacity and at the same time have a business community in the context of international competition.

Finally, the resolution also highlights the important role of VCCI. I also promise to use the activities of the Federation to create connections in economic development. In the context of difficulties that will continue for a long time, the business community feels the close companionship of the Government and promises to improve themselves, overcome difficulties to contribute to the development of the country as the goal we set out.

After listening to the sharing of entrepreneurs, at the end of the conference, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, the State and the people are always the mainstay and always trust the Vietnamese business community. The Government and the Prime Minister pledge to always stand side by side, share, encourage and absorb the maximum opinions of associations and business communities to build and develop a strong and united business and entrepreneur community. The spirit is not to say no, not to say difficult, not to say yes but not to do, if said, must be done, if committed, must be implemented and if done, must have specific results.
