On the afternoon of December 9, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency issued a decision to prosecute, temporarily detain and search the residence and workplace of 3 defendants at Kim Chung Gold and Silver Trading Company Limited for the crime of "tax evasion".

According to Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, in the process of fighting against violations of the law on gold, silver, and precious stones in the province, the Criminal Police Department coordinated with the Provincial Police's professional departments to simultaneously inspect Kim Chung Gold and Silver Trading Company Limited, located at 219 Le Hoan, Hac Thanh Ward, and Kim Lien and Lan Huong Gold and Silver Companies...

During a search of Kim Chung Gold and Silver Trading Company Limited, the police discovered and seized many pieces of yellow metal along with other papers and documents related to the company's business and tax evasion.

The forensic conclusion of the Institute of Criminal Science of the Ministry of Public Security determined that this was gold, reaching an average rate of 99.89%.

Initial investigation results determined that from 2020 to present, Mr. Nguyen Huu Binh, 71 years old, residing at 236 Le Hoan, Hac Thanh ward - Director of Kim Chung Gold and Silver Trading Company Limited and his wife, Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong, 65 years old, directed employees to set up dozens of personal accounts to conduct gold buying and selling transactions for the purpose of tax evasion, leaving out the company's income records, causing great damage to the State.

The company's revenue statistics for 5 years (from 2020 - 2025) are up to 5,000 billion VND, but each month it only pays approximately 10 million VND in taxes to the State.

Just counting one account opened by employee Tran Thi Hong at a bank, in the two months of November and December 2024, transactions amounted to 163 billion VND, evading nearly 500 million VND in taxes.

To commit tax evasion with the help of family members of Mr. Nguyen Huu Binh.

Among them is Nguyen Thu Nga, 35 years old, residing at 411 Le Hoan, Hac Thanh ward - the daughter of Mrs. Tran Thi Hong and Mr. Nguyen The Hoa. Mr. Hoa is Mr. Binh's younger brother.

Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency has prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Nguyen Huu Binh, Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong, and Nguyen Thu Nga for "tax evasion" under Article 200 of the 2015 Penal Code and is continuing to investigate and expand the case.
