The 2023 "Propaganda for Environmental Protection" Contest of Lao Cai Province is a contest exclusively for businesses in Tang Loong Industrial Park (the largest chemical industrial park in Vietnam) to raise awareness of businesses in the field of environmental protection and climate change response. The contest attracted the participation of 8 teams representing 10 businesses with more than 7,000 workers working in Tang Loong Industrial Park.
At the contest, the teams took turns going through 3 rounds: Greeting (introducing environmental management and protection work at the unit); knowledge (multiple choice questions on environmental protection, climate change response and related issues); skit (dramatization in the form of a skit performance related to environmental protection and environmental safety work).
The teams demonstrated their investment and creativity from the script writing, choreography, rehearsals to performances. The skits reflected the current state of environmental issues and proposed solutions to overcome existing problems, while improving the quality of the working environment for staff and workers at the unit.
At the end of the competition, the team of Apatit Vietnam One Member Co., Ltd. won the first prize; the second prize went to Lao Cai Copper Smelting Branch - Vimico and the joint team of Vietnam Phosphorus Joint Stock Company and Lavita International Joint Stock Company; the third prize went to Duc Giang Chemical One Member Co., Ltd., DAP No. 2 Vinachem Joint Stock Company, Lao Cai Yellow Phosphorus Joint Stock Company.
Tang Loong Industrial Park, Bao Thang District, Lao Cai Province is the largest chemical industrial park in Vietnam. Currently, there are more than 30 factories, facilities producing and processing minerals, metallurgy, construction materials, chemicals, including 13 fertilizer and chemical factories; 3 metallurgy factories; 1 ore processing factory... Each year, the total amount of solid waste generated after production is about 3.8 million tons and tons of CO2 emissions.
