According to Mr. Phong, in 2019, he accidentally learned that a local was selling a 300-year-old oil tree, so he decided to buy it for about 200 million VND.
The tree has a base diameter of about 2 m, a base of 6 m long, 4 m wide, weighs more than 10 tons, is of good quality and still intact, and is extremely rare. Because the tree is quite heavy, he had to hire 6-7 workers to use machinery and rent a truck to lift it.
After acquiring the precious tree, Mr. Phong began his creative journey with care and enthusiasm. He spent a lot of time researching traditional and modern sculpting techniques, consulting with skilled artisans.

Every day, he sits by the tree, observing every natural line to find inspiration. He believes that every tree has its own story, and his mission is to discover and release that hidden beauty through the art of sculpture.
Mr. Son Kieu Phong devoted much effort to his work.
Finally, when he straightened the tree roots, he decided to choose the saw blade of the tree trunk as the main face, the center of the work. With the available circle, Mr. Phong decided to create a clock face. He hired artisans to materialize his idea. After 14 months of sculpting, the unique work took shape.

Due to the large area of roots around, he came up with the idea of carving 12 zodiac animals symbolizing traditional cultural concepts. On the outermost, he carved 12 doves, symbolizing peace.
The clock face alone, with a diameter of more than 1 meter, stands out with a map of Vietnam with all the archipelagos, an image of Uncle Ho's mausoleum, an image of Uncle Ho's ship leaving to find a way to save the country, and the old Tra Vinh welcome gate.
The front of the work is engraved with the 12 zodiac animals.
The clock stopped at 11:30, the moment the Liberation Army flag flew over the roof of the Independence Palace on April 30, 1975. Around the clock face are images of 12 Lac birds, representing the cultural and historical connection of the country.
The watch face is engraved with a map of Vietnam with all the archipelagos, an image of Uncle Ho's mausoleum, an image of Uncle Ho's ship leaving to find a way to save the country, and the old Tra Vinh welcome gate.
The back of the tree is carved with 70 species of animals, divided into 3 levels including groups of animals living underwater, on the ground, in the tree canopy and in the sky.

Mr. Phong puts into each work profound messages about love for the homeland. Each sculptural line is not only pure art but also contains cultural and historical values of the nation. "I hope viewers will feel the love for peace, the appreciation of cultural heritage, and especially the sense of responsibility to protect the natural environment" - Mr. Phong confided.
The work Nhat Long Giang was recognized as a unique Asian record.
In 2022, when the work Nhat Long Giang was released, many people expressed interest in buying it, including a tycoon in Hai Phong who offered 16 billion VND, but Mr. Phong did not sell.
The Nhat Long Giang work has been recognized by the Vietnam Records Institute as "The largest two-sided sculpture on a monolithic eucalyptus tree with themes of culture, history, and nature in Vietnam.
At the same time, the Asia Book of Records (ABR) established this as a two-sided sculpture on a monolithic eucalyptus tree, with the theme of culture, history, and nature, achieving a unique record value in Asia.
