Vietnamese restaurant from mother's love
Like many Vietnamese tourists to Bangkok, we at SEA Games 33 were urged by curiosity to go to alley 13 Samsen road around Saint Francis Xavier Church, located in Wachira Phayaban ward, Dusit district in Bangkok.
This area has been a Vietnamese immigrant community for about 200 years. It is quite quiet on a weekend morning, but at a small intersection a few dozen meters from the church, we saw a restaurant called Orawan Vietnamese Food, with the typical Vietnamese conical hat symbol.
Entering the house, there were quite a lot of locals and tourists from all over stopping by after visiting the church. It can be seen that the reputation of Orawan Vietnam Food is quite good for Vietnamese cuisine , all customers proactively ordered Vietnamese dishes.

The most popular dish is the familiar grilled spring rolls, a famous specialty of Khanh Hoa province. The grilled spring rolls here are made very cleanly, grilled to a moderate level and quite fragrant, placed in the center of a round tray, surrounded by green bananas, star fruit, cucumbers, garlic, sliced chili...
Very satisfied is the soul of this dish, the divine dipping sauce to highlight the flavor of the spring rolls is quite delicious. The only downside is that the rice paper roll is too small, just a square piece with each side length of only about 10 cm.

In addition, the restaurant also serves other typical Vietnamese dishes such as spring rolls, grilled spring rolls, grilled chicken... which are very delicious. The restaurant owner is a 100% Thai man named Note (44 years old), very gentle and approachable, especially naming the grilled spring rolls phonetically as "Nem Nueng".

He said: "This restaurant was opened in 1990. I took over after my mother passed away early. The dishes here were introduced and guided by a Vietnamese friend of my mother.
As a local, we know that Vietnamese food is delicious. My mother decided to learn how to cook Vietnamese food to sell. I wrote the names of Vietnamese dishes myself, using Thai pronunciation to create a unique flavor for this interesting dish.
I am very happy that over the years, customers from around here and tourists have visited this area. I am very happy that you came to Thailand to attend the 33rd SEA Games. I hope that when Vietnamese fans come here, they can try our dishes and they will be satisfied with our dishes."
