The 33rd SEA Games baseball tournament opened at Khlong 6 Stadium, Pathum Thani Province with the match between Thailand and Vietnam. The result was that the home team showed complete dominance with a 16-0 victory. This victory was not surprising as Thailand was highly regarded, the players had been training together for a long time, and many had been trained in the US environment where baseball is very famous.
Among the team’s standout players is Joe Daru. The 33-year-old is of Chinese, Thai and American descent. He studied at an American university, which is where he got his start in baseball.
But because his career could not get beyond the university level, could not break into the professional level, Joe Daru had to pursue another path.

And gradually, he got into cinema. Joe Daru entered Hollywood, was cast in the most watched mystery series on NBC, the movie called Long Bright River. Joe Daru played a detective of the Philadelphia Police Department. He played with Amanda Seyfried, star of the movie Mean Girl.
Joe Daru has previously played supporting roles in The Rookie, East New York, Chicago Fires, SWAT, all of which are police and detective series. Joe Daru even had a supporting role in the Hollywood blockbuster, Guardians of the Galaxy.
Although he earns his living as an actor, Joe Daru is always ready when the Thai baseball team calls him. He played for Thailand at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou and some World Baseball Championship qualifiers. When Thailand hosted the 33rd SEA Games and included baseball in the competition program, Joe Daru had the opportunity to show himself to the home fans.
