Farewell to a flower paradise
In early December, when the first cold winds of winter bring mist to Sa Pa, the O Long tea hills are covered in a brilliant pink coat of cherry blossom season. However, this year's flower season has a special feeling, because this will be the last time visitors can admire this scene before the area is converted into an eco-urban area.

The beauty of the harmony between tea and flowers
Anyone who has ever been to the Oolong tea hills during the cherry blossom season will surely not forget the overwhelming feeling of standing in the middle of a beautiful natural picture. The soft pink arches interspersed with the endless green of the tea rows planted in straight rows, creating a romantic and peaceful scene.
Many tourists compare this place to a "miniature corner of Japan in the heart of Sa Pa", where they can stroll under the flower canopy, breathe the fresh air with the gentle aroma of young tea and listen to the wind rustling through the hills.

The story of Oolong tea hill
According to Mr. Hoang Trung Hieu, a local resident, O Long tea hill was originally an agricultural area. The cherry blossom trees were planted not for tourism purposes, but to preserve the soil according to the model brought by Taiwanese experts from Yunnan, China, when they found the Sa Pa soil suitable.
Although the main purpose is to grow tea to generate income, the unique beauty of this place has attracted many photographers and tourists to come here every time the flowers bloom.

Practical experience for the ultimate trip
To have a complete trip and capture the most beautiful moments of the last flower season, visitors can refer to some of the following experiences:
Ideal timing
Cherry blossom season usually starts from early December to late January. However, the most brilliant blooming period only lasts for the first 2-3 weeks of December. This is the best time to plan a trip.
Golden hours for photography
- Hunting clouds and early morning dew: Early morning from around 7am is the ideal time to capture the moment when dew drops are still on flower petals, shimmering in the morning sun.
- Brilliant flower colors: Around 2:00 p.m., when the sun is high in the sky, the pink color of the flowers will become most vivid and stand out against the blue sky.
- Romantic sunset: Late afternoon after 4pm, the gentle sunlight will create a warm, romantic and poetic space.
Notes when visiting
Oolong Tea Hill is not an official tourist area so there is no entrance fee. Visitors often buy some tea as a gift to support the locals, then they can freely visit and take pictures.
