Sacombank was the champion of the Southern region qualifying round after beating Sawaco 3-0 in the final. In the semi-final match against Sawaco in the national final round taking place on the morning of November 2, Sacombank continued to win 5-0.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam Banking Trade Union (actually represented by SHB Bank) was the second-placed team in the Northern region qualifying round after losing to the People's Public Security Trade Union 4-5 in the penalty shootout of the final match.

In the semi-final match of the national final round on the morning of November 2, Vietnam Bank Trade Union defeated the host Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union 2 (1-0).
