Innovating the content of scientific and educational work in a modern and practical direction

Directing the conference, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet emphasized that throughout the process of leading the revolution, our Party has always paid special, profound and comprehensive attention to the field of science and education, which is an important field, playing a key role in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. That attention not only comes from the requirements of the tasks in the new situation, but also reflects the strategic vision, mettle and intelligence of the Party in building the country.

Scientific and educational work is reflected in the Party's leadership, direction, and political and ideological orientation in the fields of education and training, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, healthcare, social environment, population, physical education and sports... All have a close relationship and are organically linked to the work of Party building, human development, socio-economic development, strengthening national defense and security, and international integration.

In recent years, especially since the 13th National Party Congress, the field of science and education has achieved many important results, directly contributing to economic growth, social development, improving people's lives, and strengthening people's trust in the Party, the State and the socialist regime. These results affirm the correct guidelines of our Party, the close direction of the Central Committee, the active participation of the entire political system and the response of the entire population. This is also a vivid demonstration of the advisory, organizational and guiding capacity of the team of cadres working in science and education at all levels.

Pointing out that the Party's science and education work is facing many opportunities and challenges in the country's new development period, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission emphasized that these changes pose urgent tasks for the Party's science and education work in the coming period. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to raise awareness and unify thoughts on the strategic role of science and education work; thoroughly grasp the viewpoints, goals and tasks on science and education that have been identified in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, thematic resolutions of the Central Committee, the Politburo , the Secretariat, especially the Party's pillar resolutions.

Head of the Committee Trinh Van Quyet also suggested that it is necessary to strengthen the capacity to advise, direct, guide and inspect science and education work. The propaganda and mass mobilization committees from the central to grassroots levels must proactively advise the Party Committee to promulgate, concretize and organize the implementation of resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Party, ensuring that the advisory work goes ahead, opens the way, is close to reality, has vision and is highly effective. Science and education work also needs to innovate its content, methods and style in a modern and practical direction...

Also at the conference, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son reported on the topic "Results of implementing the Party and State's guidelines and policies on fundamental innovation in education and training; implementing Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development; tasks of localities in advising on the implementation of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW".

According to Minister Nguyen Kim Son, the international and domestic context is undergoing profound changes, posing new, comprehensive and urgent requirements for education and training. Green transformation, digital transformation, breakthrough development of education, science, technology and talent. Our country is facing the requirement of rapid and sustainable development, realizing two 100-year goals, it is necessary to have a new generation of Vietnamese people, global citizens with enough courage, intelligence and health to create the future.

At recent meetings on education and training, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that breakthroughs in developing high-quality human resources and talent are urgent requirements to improve labor productivity, develop a knowledge-based economy, ensure technological sovereignty and participate in global value chains to implement major policies in recent Resolutions of the Politburo. At the same time, along with economic growth, it is necessary to ensure the promotion of social progress, expand opportunities for all people to access quality education, lifelong learning and maximize individual potential.

Although the Party's previous Resolutions on education and training were very comprehensive and strategic, they needed more specific and action-oriented directions and implementation. Many Resolutions issued over a long period of time have encountered many difficulties in their implementation in practice and need to be adjusted to suit the new situation. The requirements of the new situation and tasks require stronger and more drastic directions and actions.

From the above situation, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training advised the Government Party Committee to submit to the Politburo Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development. The Resolution has proposed new, stronger policies and decisions to quickly clear bottlenecks, create breakthroughs in development, modernization, and revival of the country's education.

“On the basis of existing viewpoints and policies, add some new contents, adjust some contents that are no longer suitable; specifically identify education and training development goals associated with the country's development goals until 2030, 2035 and vision to 2045; propose new, breakthrough solutions, meet new, higher requirements for the country's breakthrough development, overcome the middle-income trap, and enter an era of prosperity and strength,” Minister Nguyen Kim Son emphasized.
