Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine chaired the discussion.
Attending the seminar were representatives of central and local press leaders, along with experts and researchers in the fields of communication, technology and digital transformation.
In his opening speech at the seminar, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha affirmed: Digital transformation of the press is not only an inevitable requirement of the technological era but also an important political task, aiming to improve propaganda capacity, effectively serving the work of Party building, state management, and socio-economic development. In the trend of multi-dimensional information, the Vietnamese revolutionary press also needs to proactively adapt, innovate, and promote its role as a vanguard force on the Party's ideological and cultural front.

The Event Profile electronic page of the Communist Magazine is one of the specialized pages, with a political orientation, reflecting current domestic and international issues. After officially opening and operating on August 8, 2023, the Event Profile electronic page at https://hssk.tapchicongsan.org.vn has been maintained in regular operation, initially attracting the attention of readers.
The innovation of the content, interface, and presentation method of the specialized page in the context of digital transformation is an important step to meet the information needs of modern readers, while affirming the role of Communist Magazine in the digital transformation of journalism.
The space of the Special Page is open and flexible in its reflection aspect, being an "extended arm" of the printed publication Event Profile Special Page, but there also needs to be a relative distinction between the printed publication and the electronic special page publication.
Therefore, Communist Magazine hopes to receive practical comments and contributions from experts and press leaders at the Seminar to continue to improve, innovate and promote the role of the specialized page in the digital press ecosystem.

Speaking at the Seminar, comrade Nguyen Ngoc Thanh - Head of the People's Electronic Department of the People's Newspaper said that, following the publication of the Event Profile Magazine in the electronic version, the content of the Event Profile Electronic Page is "in-depth of in-depth", closely following and analyzing deeply, promptly decoding "hot" issues at home and abroad. However, the page needs to integrate technology in presenting and producing content, mastering the digital platform more, not to fall behind the wave of social media. It is especially important to note that innovation in the interface and storytelling is the key to spreading content value in an attractive and modern way, while still ensuring ideological depth and political orientation. It is necessary to pay attention to the keywords of the article, considering this a key factor to help improve the accessibility, dissemination and communication effectiveness of the magazine in the digital environment.
Taking a more specific approach in terms of content, Dr. Vu Tuan Anh - Head of the Department of Communication and Foreign Culture, Diplomatic Academy, commented: In the system of Event Profile pages, the two columns "Window to the World" and "Documents - Declassification" hold an important position. This is where Vietnamese readers can see the global picture, better understand the position and role of Vietnam in the rapidly changing world, and at the same time open up valuable historical documents, helping us to understand more deeply about strategic events and decisions.
The articles in the two current sections are well-invested, reflecting topics such as foreign policy, international situation, relations between major countries, as well as declassified historical documents of high academic value with reliable sources of information.
In the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution, globalization and strategic competition between major countries, these columns have extremely practical significance, not only serving research, but also helping to orient the awareness of the young generation of Vietnam in the integration process, affirming national character in the international arena.

However, the way the content is presented today is still academic and not really attractive to young readers. The dissemination of articles on digital platforms and social networks is still modest, leading to a gap in reaching modern youth - those who are interested in current events but need a more dynamic and closer form of communication.
Accordingly, the Specialized Page should innovate its presentation format, such as transforming academic articles into multimedia topics: short videos , infographics, strategic maps, or podcasts of dialogue between experts and students. Each international topic or historical document can be illustrated with images, timelines, and excerpts from original documents, helping readers “relive” the story.
Comrade Nguyen Anh Vu - Editor-in-Chief of Culture Newspaper said: In terms of content, the Special Page is currently on the right track. In the context of the press shifting strongly to the digital model, the Special Page needs to invest more in content, focusing on in-depth content with high research and reference value, from which to further study the model of charging for reading articles for such in-depth content.
This not only helps affirm the brand and elevate the position of Event Profile as a specialized site, but also contributes to creating resources for reinvestment in content quality.
Along with interface and technology innovation, greater attention to information depth, analytical value, and forecasting are the factors that create the competitiveness and reputation of the Magazine in the digital age.

Artist Tran Viet Anh (Dan Viet Newspaper) commented: In general, the Special Page still lacks representative images, the interface is not "eye-catching"; it posts a lot of information but the presentation is not really attractive; the sections also do not really show the individual personality and unique features of each section... The Special Page does not have a section for interaction with readers, while the current trend of journalism is that interaction with authors and articles is becoming more and more popular, for major newspapers this is also a value for development.
Therefore, the Specialized Page should change its interface in a modern direction, increase interaction, add a podcast and video section. Have a separate and clear identity for some of the magazine's key sections. Increase the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as Gemini Deep Research or Chat GPT to synthesize data and use these AI tools to create automatic charts and diagrams that can interact with readers. Increase vivid visual graphics, data graphics, and more presented data, bringing more clarity and coherence to readers. In particular, implementing in-depth specialized articles, there should be more participation of code programming, to have better quality, more accessible, and more convincing works.
At the seminar, delegates discussed many core issues: How to innovate in-depth content while applying AI, data analytics and multimedia technology in press content production? How to expand transmission methods using modern technology, while maintaining the revolutionary press identity, maintaining its own identity, and avoiding overlap with publications of other press agencies; while the presentation and interface design must be user-friendly and in line with new technology standards.
Many experts also expressed the importance of new media technology in content production, emphasizing that digital transformation of journalism does not stop at digitizing the news production process, but rather a comprehensive transformation of thinking, operating methods, organizational models and reader approaches. Digitally transformed journalism needs to consider readers as the center, take data as the foundation, technology as the tool, and content as the core. Each page and column must become an open, friendly, trustworthy, and highly interactive information space.
Opinions also mentioned the challenges in digital transformation, especially the issue of human resources and financial resources. Digital transformation of journalism requires staff, reporters and editors to be continuously trained in technological skills, and at the same time have innovative thinking, quickly adapting to new platforms. Balancing thematic content - political commentary with multimedia, conciseness and appeal is also a difficult requirement, requiring clear direction and strategy.

Concluding the discussion, Comrade Nguyen Tri Thuc - Member of the Editorial Board, Director of the Center for Topics and Distribution Communications affirmed: Communist Magazine always identifies digital transformation as a key task, associated with innovation in content, methods of operation, and diversification of publications to improve the quality and effectiveness of propaganda of the Party's leading theoretical and political agency. Innovation of the Event Profile page is not only a technical improvement or form of expression, but also a shift in journalistic thinking, aiming to better serve readers, while expanding the space of impact of the publication, with new columns opened in accordance with modern journalism, meeting the needs of theoretical information, reflecting the country's socio-economic issues, diversifying methods of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation, spreading the Party's ideology and guidelines more widely and effectively.
Receiving the opinions of experts and press leaders at the Seminar, comrade Nguyen Tri Thuc affirmed: the opinions at the Seminar are an important basis for the Editorial Board of Communist Magazine to continue perfecting the operating model of the electronic page, contributing to realizing the goal of building a professional, humane, modern press, strongly spreading the value of Vietnam's revolutionary press in the digital age.
