Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Phan Anh Son said, looking back at the 75-year history of relations between the two countries, we appreciate even more what the people of the two countries have given each other. During the most difficult years of the struggle for independence and national reconstruction, Vietnam always received the wholehearted support of the Polish people. For thousands of Vietnamese people, Poland is not only a place to study, but has also become a second homeland, a place where youth and the most beautiful memories are kept. The Vietnam - Poland relationship is taking important steps forward. The official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Poland in January 2025 opened a new and promising chapter.

The President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations affirmed that in the overall friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Poland over the years, people-to-people diplomacy has always played a particularly important role in contributing to building a solid social foundation through activities of peace, solidarity, friendship, cultural, educational, artistic exchanges, academic exchanges, local connections and cooperation between friendship organizations. The Vietnam - Poland Friendship Association has become the "fire keeper" of the friendship between the two nations, gathering and connecting thousands of alumni and postgraduates - elite intellectuals who understand Polish culture so that they can continue to contribute to the bilateral relationship.

In recent years, many people-to-people diplomatic activities between the two countries have gone into depth and substance, such as friendly exchanges, exhibitions, food fairs, Vietnamese film weeks, etc. Generations of Vietnamese students studying in Poland, along with the community of more than 30,000 Vietnamese people living and working in Poland, have become a reliable bridge, actively bringing the image of the country and people of Vietnam to Poland, bringing the country and people of Poland to Vietnam, promoting mutual understanding and trust between the two countries.

Mr. Phan Anh Son affirmed that in the context of a volatile world, the role of people-to-people diplomacy becomes more and more important. People-to-people diplomacy is soft power, the foundation for the sustainable development of the relationship between the two countries, while opening up new areas of cooperation in line with the development needs of the times.

Head of Mission at the Polish Embassy in Vietnam, Ms. Joanna Skoczek, affirmed that the friendly meeting to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Poland is a testament to the development, dynamism and partnership between the two countries. People-to-people exchange is the foundation of the relationship between the two countries. Although the times, political and economic systems have changed a lot, new challenges have emerged, the relationship that has been nurtured over the past seven decades remains strong and bears fruit for the future. According to the Ambassador, despite the great geographical distance and many differences in culture and history, our two countries have many similarities. Over more than seven decades of cooperation, Poland has repeatedly responded to requests and shared support with Vietnam. First of all, it is necessary to mention the reception of thousands of Vietnamese students, engineers and experts, who after returning to their country have actively participated in the reconstruction of an independent Vietnam. Many students fell in love with Polish language and literature and became leading translators into Vietnamese.

According to the Ambassador, educational cooperation has always been one of the most dynamic and promising areas of cooperation. Polish educational programs are of great interest to Vietnamese youth. The Polish Embassy in Vietnam is also implementing many initiatives to introduce Polish language and culture to the Vietnamese community. Our bilateral relations are very dynamic – Ambassador Joanna Skoczek affirmed.

Poland recognized and established diplomatic relations with Vietnam on February 4, 1950. Poland was the only country to send thousands of officers to both the Armistice Commissions after the Geneva Agreement in 1954 and the Paris Agreement in 1973.

From the 1960s to the early 1990s, Poland has trained over 4,000 students and scientists; over 3,500 skilled workers, mainly in the coal and shipbuilding industries for Vietnam. Currently, the Polish Government still grants 20 scholarships to Vietnamese students every year and plans to increase this number further in the near future.

The Vietnamese community in Poland currently has about 30,000 people, has many outstanding achievements, actively integrates into Polish society, contributes significantly to maintaining and developing traditional relations, friendship, and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries and is positively evaluated by the Polish government; is considered a typical example of a successful immigrant community in Poland.
