Promoting the role of the business community
On the afternoon of October 11, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , the Government Standing Committee had a meeting with representatives of Vietnamese businessmen.
In his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister conveyed the regards, gratitude and best wishes of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the business community and enterprises on the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day, October 13.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has just signed and issued Resolution 41 on behalf of the Politburo on October 10, 2023 on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new era, with many new points in the spirit of supporting, helping and being a fulcrum for Vietnamese entrepreneurs.
“I feel the sincerity, enthusiasm and high responsibility of the delegates at today's meeting, inspiring and motivating them to live and work for a strong and prosperous Vietnam, and for the people to be increasingly happy and prosperous,” the Prime Minister said.

After more than 36 years of innovation, by 2022, Vietnam's GDP will reach about 409 billion USD, an increase of about 51 times (GDP in 1986 reached about 8 billion USD). Notably, in the period 1986 - 2022, Vietnam is in the top 5 countries with the largest economic growth in the world.
"We have a team of Vietnamese entrepreneurs that has been constantly developing in both quantity and quality, making great and important contributions to the cause of national construction and protection in many aspects; being the main force, pioneering in creating many jobs and livelihoods for workers, thereby contributing to hunger eradication, poverty reduction and socio-economic development," the Prime Minister stated.
Currently, Vietnam has nearly 900,000 operating enterprises, about 14,400 cooperatives and more than 5 million business households, the business sector contributes more than 60% of GDP, about 30% of the total working population.
Enterprises and entrepreneurs are present in almost all industries and fields of production and business, operating not only domestically but many enterprises and entrepreneurs have made a name for themselves, affirming their brand value to reach out to the region and the world, contributing to bringing Vietnamese brands to the world and enhancing our country's position in the international arena.
The Prime Minister said that in the coming time, the Government will effectively implement Resolution 41 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period, focusing on 8 groups of tasks and solutions.

First, continue to stabilize the macro economy, control inflation, promote growth, and stabilize major economic balances.
Second, continue to promote the improvement of a fair, open, equal and transparent business investment environment; remove unnecessary barriers and regulations on business conditions, enhance national competitiveness, promote administrative procedure reform, build a digital economy, digital government, digital society and digital citizens.
Third, continue to remove bottlenecks in resource mobilization and production and business; continue to facilitate and increase access to credit for people and businesses; direct credit to priority areas and growth drivers; build and strengthen trust, psychology and business inspiration; with the motto "Taking people and businesses as the center, the subject and the goal, driving force and resource for development".
Fourth, strongly promote the development of safe, healthy and transparent markets such as capital, real estate and labor markets, especially high-quality labor markets, to meet the requirements of economic restructuring towards development based on quality, efficiency and innovation.
Fifth, the Government requires ministries, branches and localities to review current difficulties and obstacles of enterprises; have plans to promptly and effectively handle and completely resolve long-standing obstacles that hinder business operations.
Sixth, promote disbursement of public investment capital so that this capital source truly becomes an important driving force for economic growth, not only in the short term, but also in the medium and long term.
Seventh, promote effective and substantive implementation of the Law on Support for Small and Medium Enterprises, promote strong application of science and technology, build a startup and innovation ecosystem.
Eighth, strengthen the effective implementation of business support policies, especially policies to support businesses to recover soon and support businesses to innovate business models based on digital transformation trends, energy transformation, green transformation, inclusive and circular business models, etc.
The business community needs to make more efforts.
On the part of the business community and entrepreneurs, the Prime Minister suggested that it is necessary to continuously improve competitiveness, reach regional and international levels. Further promote proactiveness, dynamism and creativity to not only develop the businesses they own but also strengthen cooperation with each other to create a combined strength to raise the position of Vietnamese enterprises.
Focus on Party development work in enterprises; improve the capacity, quality, and quality of human resources, leadership, management, and corporate governance capacity, as well as develop corporate culture, and build a team of entrepreneurs with enough talent, heart, and vision.

The Prime Minister requested that business associations effectively promote their role in supporting businesses and do a good job of consulting and reviewing to perfect the system of legal documents related to business activities; be a bridge and voice of the business community to build a united and powerful business community for a strong and prosperous Vietnam.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, the State and the people are always the mainstay and always trust the Vietnamese business community. The Government and the Prime Minister pledge to always stand side by side, share, encourage and fully absorb the opinions of associations and business communities to build and develop a strong and united business and entrepreneur community.
“The spirit is not to say no, not to say difficult, not to say yes but not to do, if said must be done, if committed must be done and if done, must have specific results”, the Prime Minister emphasized.
The Prime Minister believes that the Vietnamese business community will continue to accompany, share difficulties and support the Party, State, Government and Prime Minister in their directives and management to seize new opportunities and new fortunes, enhance endogenous capacity, and contribute to building a strong and prosperous Vietnam with happy and prosperous people.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister also sent his best wishes to female entrepreneurs on the occasion of Vietnamese Women's Day October 20 .
