Coach Hector Cuper brought to Vietnam 26 players with a total squad value (according to Transfermarkt) of more than 8.7 million euros. The most valuable player is striker Omar Al Somah, worth 1.3 million euros. This player ranks 7th in the list of the most goalscorers in the history of the Syrian team.
However, Al Somah is not the most valuable player in Syrian football today. That position belongs to Omar Khribin. The player of Shabab Al Ahli is valued by Transfermarkt at 4.5 million euros, 15 times more than Quang Hai. The most expensive Vietnamese player on Transfermarkt's data today is Nguyen Hoang Duc, who is only valued at 400 thousand euros.
Omar Khribin is not in the Syrian squad that will travel to Vietnam for a friendly match this time. The 29-year-old player is absent due to some personal issues.
The Syrian team is among the strong teams in Asia.
Without Omar Khribin, the Syrian national team is still very strong. Hosam Aiesh (valued at 500 thousand euros by Transfermarkt) used to play for Ostersunds FK (Sweden) and scored against Arsenal in the Europa League.
However, Aiesh has not played in recent months. In early 2023, this striker moved to Seoul FC (Korea) and has not played a single match.

The Syrian team will be a tough test for coach Philippe Troussier and his team. The friendly match between the Vietnamese and Syrian teams will take place at 7:30 p.m. on June 20 at Thien Truong Stadium ( Nam Dinh ).
