This result is not surprising, because in yesterday's match, coach Diego Giustozzi's players also defeated the opponent team with the same score of 5-0. However, the victory or defeat in a friendly match is not the main goal of the two teams. The important thing is that both the Vietnamese team and the Solomon team have had the necessary tests in terms of personnel and playing style in order to aim for the official tournaments in the coming time.
In fact, in the second leg, Coach Giustozzi continued to create opportunities for all players to enter the field, while also changing the personnel in the groups. Despite experimenting with the formation, the Vietnamese futsal team still created an overwhelming game and scored 2 goals in the first half. The players who scored for the Vietnamese futsal team were Tu Minh Quang and Nguyen Thinh Phat.
Chau Doan Phat (yellow shirt) is a prominent factor of the Vietnam futsal team.
In the second half, the Vietnamese futsal team maintained their dominant position. In the 25th minute, Junior Mana from the Solomon team illegally blocked the ball with his hand in the penalty area. This gave coach Giustozzi's team a penalty kick and Nguyen Minh Tri easily defeated the opposing team's goalkeeper to increase the score to 3-0.
In the 35th minute, Solomon committed their 6th foul, so the Vietnamese futsal team was awarded a 10-meter penalty. Van Tuan made a neat shot, helping the home team lead 4-0. Less than 2 minutes later, Minh Tri completed his double after dribbling from the right wing to the center to finish powerfully. In the remaining minutes, Solomon pushed forward to play power-play but could not score and accepted a 0-5 defeat.
After two friendly matches with the Solomon Islands futsal team, the Vietnam futsal team continued to practice at Thai Son Nam Stadium, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City. On May 31, Coach Giustozzi will finalize the list of 16 players for the training trip to South America.
