The Korean team will face Tunisia in a friendly match on the evening of October 13. This is one of two matches for coach Jurgen Klinsmann and his team in October, along with the other match against the Vietnamese team in Suwon City on the evening of October 17.
Tunisia's opponent is considered to be of quality, as the African representative competed in the 2022 World Cup and caused a shock when defeating the French team in the final match of Group C.
However, the Tunisian team was completely outclassed by coach Klinsmann's South Korea in the friendly match that ended a few minutes ago. Although star Son Heung-min was not in the starting lineup, South Korea still had a strong force with the trio of Lee Kang-in, Hwang Hee-chan and Cho Gue-sung.
The South Korean team outperformed Tunisia thanks to stars with impressive vision like Lee Kang-in (No. 18)
The Korean team attacked Tunisia from the front and continuously created scoring opportunities. Instead of focusing on the wings and playing long balls like under Paulo Bento, the Korean team under Klinsmann played more smoothly and flexibly. After a goalless first half, the rain of goals that Korea created started in the second half, with Lee Kang-in scoring from a free kick in the 54th minute.
Exactly 3 minutes later, the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder made his mark again with a beautiful left-footed shot, defeating the Tunisian goalkeeper.
Two quick goals helped South Korea play more excitedly. On the day the entire attack of the "Taeguk Warriors" played brilliantly, Tunisia had absolutely no way to defend.
The Korean team showed impressive strength.
The Korean team scored two more goals, in the 67th and 90+1 minutes, respectively, from an own goal by a Tunisian player and a goal by Hwang Ui-jo, a striker playing for Norwich City.
With a 4-0 win, the Korean team extended their unbeaten streak under coach Klinsmann to four. In the last three matches, Lee Kang-in and his teammates won two and drew one, playing impressively and tightly against Wales, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.
Notably, South Korea's star Son Heung-min has completely rested in this match. The Tottenham striker is still training separately after suffering a thigh injury during the training session on October 9. With coach Klinsmann giving him the opportunity to rest, Son Heung-min is likely to play in the match against Vietnam on October 17.
