Vietnam women's futsal team struggles to enter the match
On the afternoon of November 17, the Vietnamese women's futsal team had their opening match at the Southeast Asian women's futsal championship. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team's opponent was Myanmar.
In the 11-team football tournament, Myanmar, along with Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines, created a fierce competition in Southeast Asia. However, in the futsal tournament, the Vietnamese women's team is considered to be much stronger. Thanh Hang and her teammates just won the international friendly tournament in Thailand when they tied with the host and defeated the Chinese women's futsal team.
With 9 players who have played in 11-a-side women's football, the Vietnamese women's futsal team has a good physical foundation and enough technique for a 5-a-side field.
Vietnam women's futsal team wins big
In the match against Myanmar, the Vietnamese women's futsal team played a fast and furious attack to put pressure on the ball. In the 3rd minute, receiving a pass from the home field, Bui Thi Trang pressed and covered intelligently, before passing the ball to captain Thanh Hang to score into the Myanmar net. After that, Mr. Dinh Hoang's students continuously created opportunities but missed them.
The Vietnamese women's futsal team suddenly slowed down in the second half of the first half, allowing the opponent to score 2 goals and take the lead. This was the time when the ala and fixo played poorly, lacking coordination in covering and marking, especially with Myanmar's second column situations.
In the 10th minute, goalkeeper Thuy Linh's poor catch of the ball created an opportunity for the opponent to finish close to the goal to equalize. Five minutes later, another pass from the sideline helped Myanmar successfully score a goal against Vietnam. The players in red shirts defended ineffectively, allowing the opponent to escape easily.
Explosive second half
However, the break between the two halves helped the Vietnamese coaching staff to adjust their squad. Pressure was created right after the break, and with superior class, the Vietnamese women's futsal team re-established the game.
Match schedule of Vietnam women's futsal team
In the 22nd and 26th minutes, Phuong Anh and Bien Thi Hang shined to help the Vietnamese women's futsal team take a 3-2 lead. Phuong Anh's long-range shot was a masterpiece, showing that coach Dinh Hoang's team had many ways to approach the goal.
Two shocking goals caused Myanmar to lose control of the game. At this point, the Vietnamese women's futsal team played better and better. In the 33rd minute, Thanh Ngan successfully kicked a penalty to raise the score to 4-2, before K'Thua sealed the 5-2 victory in the final minutes to close out a resounding victory for Vietnam.
At 3:00 p.m. tomorrow (November 18), the Vietnamese women's futsal team will face Indonesia in the second match.
