In the first training camp of 2026, head coach Mai Duc Chung summoned 28 players to train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. In addition, the coaching staff will continue to select and nurture promising young athletes. Specifically, some young players currently participating in the National U19 Women's Football Championship will be monitored and evaluated during the competition and may be called up to the national team after the tournament concludes (February 7th).
During this crucial preparation phase, the Vietnamese women's national team will have a training camp in China from February 7th to 14th, 2026, to gain experience, refine their playing style, and aim for peak performance in continental competitions.
Previously, the draw for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup Finals was held at Sydney City Hall, Australia on the afternoon of July 29, 2025. The draw placed the Vietnamese women's team in Group C alongside Japan, India, and Chinese Taipei. According to the tournament format, the top two teams from each group and the two best third-placed teams will advance to the quarter-finals.
The Vietnamese women's national team will face the Indian women's national team in their opening match on March 4, 2026. The next two matches against Chinese Taipei and Japan will take place on March 7 and 10, respectively. Coach Mai Duc Chung's team will play all three matches at the Perth Rectangular Stadium.
