
In the first training camp of the year, Head Coach Mai Duc Chung summoned 28 players to stabilize the squad, review personnel, and initially build a long-term preparation plan for the tournament. Along with that, the coaching staff also focused on discovering and nurturing young talents, aiming to create a future pool of players for the national team.
According to information from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), several young players currently competing in the 2026 National U19 Women's Football Championship will be closely monitored and evaluated, and may be called up as additional players after the tournament concludes on February 7th.

Immediately after completing their domestic training camp, the Vietnamese women's national team is scheduled to travel to China for a training camp from February 7th to 14th. This is considered an important training trip, helping coach Mai Duc Chung's team gain experience against strong regional opponents, improve their physical fitness, tactics, and fighting spirit before entering the continental competition.
"The women's national team is currently undergoing a rejuvenation process, so international training camps are a valuable opportunity for players to gain practical experience and strengthen their cohesion," coach Mai Duc Chung shared.
The draw for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup Finals took place at Sydney City Hall (Australia) on the afternoon of July 29, 2025. As a result, the Vietnamese women's team was placed in Group C along with Japan, India, and Chinese Taipei.
According to the regulations, the top two teams from each group and the two best third-placed teams will qualify for the quarter-finals.
In this group, the Vietnamese women's team will kick off their campaign with a match against India on March 4th. Their next two matches will be against Chinese Taipei (March 7th) and Japan (March 10th). All three matches will take place at the Perth Rectangular Stadium (Western Australia).
With thorough preparation and a determined spirit, the Vietnamese women's national team aims to replicate their resilient performance and continue to assert their position in the continent. Competing against top teams like Japan is also a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese women's football to enhance its international skills and experience.
