In preparation for this important tournament, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team have undergone a period of training and physical accumulation at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center ( Hanoi ) and a useful training trip in Japan. In addition to reviewing the force, the coaching staff focused on building a suitable tactical system, helping the players achieve the best condition when entering the competition.

At the 33rd SEA Games, women's football will start on December 5 in Chonburi. Huynh Nhu and her teammates are in Group B - considered to have many challenges as opponents Malaysia and Myanmar maintain a stable force, while the Philippines has a squad with many naturalized players.

The Vietnamese women's team is currently in a transitional phase, with many young players needing time to nurture and develop. Like the U22 Vietnam team, before the 33rd SEA Games, the women's team is facing additional difficulties in terms of personnel when midfielder Nguyen Thi Van was injured in a practice match on the afternoon of November 18, 2025. Despite the difficulties, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team aim to progress step by step, passing the group stage to the semi-finals and finals to defend their title at the 33rd SEA Games.

Speaking before departure, coach Mai Duc Chung said the whole team is in good spirits and ready for the challenges ahead. He stressed that concentration in each match will be an important factor, and acknowledged the efforts of the players throughout the preparation period.

In the coming days, the Vietnamese women's team will have a familiarization session on the field and continue to perfect their tactics before entering the opening match of the group stage, against the Malaysian women's team on December 5. The next matches of coach Mai Duc Chung and his team on December 8 and 10 will be against the Philippines and Myanmar, respectively. With careful preparation and clear goals, the whole team is determined to bring pride to the country's football fans at the 33rd SEA Games.
