In preparation for the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's team has undergone serious training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center ( Hanoi ) and a useful training trip in Japan. The coaching staff not only reviewed the team but also focused on building an optimal tactical system to ensure that the players maintain the best physical and mental condition when entering the competition.
In Group B of the 33rd SEA Games women's football, the Vietnamese women's team will face Malaysia, the Philippines and Myanmar. These are opponents that are considered to have a stable force and many quality players, of which the Philippines has many naturalized players.
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese women’s team is currently in a transitional phase, with many young players needing more experience. In addition, midfielder Nguyen Thi Van was injured in a practice match on November 18, making the team’s strength even more challenging.
Speaking before departure, coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed: “The whole team is in good spirits, ready to enter the matches. Concentration in each match is an important factor to achieve good results, and I acknowledge the players' continuous efforts throughout the preparation period.”
In the coming days, the Vietnamese women's team will have a session to familiarize themselves with the field and perfect their tactics before the opening match against Malaysia on December 5. In the next two matches, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will face the Philippines (December 8) and Myanmar (December 10).
With careful preparation and high determination, the Vietnamese women's team aims to progress step by step, pass the group stage, enter the semi-finals and defend the title at SEA Games 33, bringing pride to the country's football fans.
