The Vietnam team returns to training, preparing for the match with Laos

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that the Vietnamese team entered its first training session at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho) on the evening of November 11, preparing for the match against Laos in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

Having just finished the 2025/26 V.League match on November 10, the group of players from the Hanoi Police Club and Hanoi Club were allowed by coach Kim Sang-sik to practice recovery at the hotel.

The coaching staff encouraged the players before the training session.

On the field, the remaining players only did light exercise with moderate volume according to a training program designed to help regenerate energy and maintain excitement after a stressful period of competition in the domestic tournament.

Compared to the most recent training session, this time's list includes two new recruits: central defender Khong Minh Gia Bao (Ho Chi Minh City Police Club) and striker Nguyen Tran Viet Cuong (Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club) - new faces who promise to bring a breath of fresh air to the team.

The highlight of the training session was the return of striker Nguyen Xuan Son, who marked his return to the national team after nearly a year of absence due to injury.

The presence of the player born in 1997 brings a special atmosphere, not only for him but also for the whole team.

In addition, some young players of the U22 generation such as Dinh Bac, Thanh Nhan, Trung Kien,... were also absent to join the U22 Vietnam team to participate in the Panda Cup friendly tournament in China, preparing for the 33rd SEA Games.

The team will have 4 days of training in Viet Tri before moving to Laos.

However, coach Kim Sang-sik still maintains stability in his squad, harmoniously combining experienced pillars and players who are performing well at the club.

With a stable force and a spirit of determination to seize opportunities, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team aim to win all 3 points against Laos, thereby maintaining their advantage in the race for tickets to the 2027 Asian Cup Finals.

In group F, the Vietnamese team currently has 9 points, ranked second after Malaysia.

Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will have 4 days of training in Viet Tri before moving to Laos to play the second leg against the Lao team, taking place on November 19.
