Although the official cycling competition will not begin until December 14 at a location about 120 km from Bangkok, according to coach Nguyen Huy Hung, the reason the team set off early is to get used to the hilly road and adapt to the competition route.

Coach Huy Hung said that the men's road cycling event has 3 events and 4 sets of medals including team time trial, individual time trial, individual and team platoon. Coach Nguyen Huy Hung added that the team's goal is to aim for a gold medal in the team platoon event.
