Good practices and effective models
In the picture of Quang Ninh's digital economy , Quang Ninh Clean Water Joint Stock Company (QUAWACO) is considered one of the pioneering enterprises, representing the spirit of innovation and application of technology in management - production - services. With the orientation of "digital enterprise, smart operation, professional service", QUAWACO has been synchronously deploying many modern technology solutions, contributing to improving labor productivity, saving costs and enhancing customer experience.
In the production sector, the company has built a smart management system at water plants, applying automation technology in the entire production and operation process. This system allows for the collection, storage and analysis of operational data of machinery and equipment, and energy consumption management, thereby optimizing production efficiency and minimizing losses. QUAWACO focuses on developing the Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure, integrating sensors and digital technology into essential infrastructure, helping to monitor and operate the water supply network in real time. In particular, the company has digitized the entire water supply system on a GIS map platform, serving the construction, maintenance, repair and smart operation management. From 2023, QUAWACO will put into use electronic logbooks and electronic operation logs at factories, pumping stations, and exploitation wells - an important step forward in data management and transparent operation.

In the customer service sector, the company has deployed a series of convenient digital solutions, such as Zalo Official Account for customer care, My Quawaco application, online water metering application, and especially a virtual assistant operating on the ChatGPT platform to support automatic answering. QUAWACO also applies electronic contracts and cashless payments, helping customers to transact quickly and conveniently, minimizing paperwork.
In the tourism industry - the key economic sector of Quang Ninh, digital transformation is becoming an important lever to improve the experience and satisfaction of tourists. The whole province has more than 200 relic sites that have been digitized, integrating bilingual QR codes to help tourists easily look up information. Destinations such as Ha Long Bay and Yen Tu are equipped with electronic ticket systems, surveillance cameras, automatic explanations, interactive digital maps and 3D heritage applications. Quang Ninh Museum is a pioneer in building a "virtual museum", multilingual explanations and QR code tickets, opening up a convenient and modern digital cultural space experience.
Accommodation and travel businesses have also quickly grasped the trend by applying AI chatbots, digital hotel management systems, cashless payments and automatic bookings. Some units have also introduced virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology into their products, helping customers "test travel" before purchasing services. Notably, thanks to digital transformation, service businesses have reduced operating costs by 20-30%, while increasing customer satisfaction thanks to convenience and transparency in transactions. Revenue growth from tourists using digital platforms has increased by an average of 15% per year.

Towards the goal of digital economy accounting for 30% of GRDP
Implementing Resolution No. 09-NQ/TU dated February 5, 2022 of the Provincial Party Committee on comprehensive digital transformation by 2025, with a vision to 2030, Quang Ninh has clearly formed three pillars: Digital government, digital economy, digital society with specific goals and targets. Up to now, after 3 years of implementation, the proportion of the province's digital economy has reached about 6.69% of GRDP. Many key economic sectors and fields of the province have promoted the application of digital technology, creating clear effects on productivity, quality and added value. Notably, 100% of organizations and individuals doing business use electronic invoices; over 85% of industrial production, processing and manufacturing establishments apply smart management software (ERP, SCADA...).
Over 4,500 enterprises, cooperatives, and business households in Quang Ninh province conduct transactions on e-commerce platforms, social networks, and websites to promote and consume products. Hundreds of 3-5 star OCOP products are posted on major e-commerce platforms such as Postmart, Voso, Shopee, Lazada, etc. with an estimated annual revenue of over 120 billion VND. The model "Market 4.0 - cashless" has been deployed in 120/135 markets, with 86.3% of business households accepting digital payments, bringing about fundamental changes in the trading and purchasing habits of small traders and people. The fields of public administration, health, education, and tourism have all promoted the application of digital technology: From booking rooms, buying sightseeing tickets, registering for medical examinations, paying hospital fees to online teaching are all done through digital platforms.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Tien, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, the goal by 2030 is that the digital economy will account for about 30% of the province's GRDP. To realize this goal, Quang Ninh focuses on attracting industrial enterprises to invest in the production of electronic equipment, telecommunications, software and IT services; promoting digital transformation in key industries such as industry, tourism, trade, and logistics. At the same time, the province aims to form new digital economic sectors based on big data, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and cross-border digital services, in parallel with strong investment in infrastructure and high-quality digital human resources, creating a solid foundation for long-term growth.
