Previously, at about 8:00 a.m. the same day, Mr. Nguyen Cao Gioi (born 1987, Tinh Thuy block, Quang Phu ward) while pulling the net in the local sea discovered a live turtle caught in the net.

Realizing that this is an endangered, rare wild animal protected by law, Mr. Gioi proactively contacted Tam Thanh Border Guard Station to hand it over.

Immediately after receiving the turtle, Tam Thanh Border Guard Station coordinated with the Police, Military Command and People's Committee of Quang Phu Ward to inspect and record the characteristics of the turtle.

Through initial identification, this turtle belongs to the rare hawksbill turtle species, weighs about 17kg, and is in stable health.

Tam Thanh Border Guard Station made a record of receipt and, together with the authorities, released the turtle back into the natural environment.
