The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued a Plan to organize activities to welcome the New Year 2026, especially including an artistic fireworks display from 0:00 to 0:15 on January 1, 2026.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City will organize 3 high-altitude fireworks display locations including the area at the beginning of the Saigon River Tunnel (An Khanh Ward); New City Center Area ( Binh Duong Ward) and Tam Thang Square (Vung Tau Ward).

There is also a low-altitude fireworks display at Dam Sen Cultural Park (Binh Thoi Ward). The funding for fireworks displays at these locations comes from socialized sources.

Along with the fireworks display, Ho Chi Minh City also organizes many cultural and artistic activities to serve people and tourists at the end of the year.

Highlights include the Countdown program on the evening of December 31 at Nguyen Hue walking street, Le Loi street extension area, Lam Son Park and City Theater.

In addition, the event “Starting Waves of Dawn 2025” will take place on December 31 at Tam Thang Tower Square (Vung Tau Ward) with activities: Dawn Run, yoga performance and evening art program. The Culinary Culture Festival will be held from December 27, 2025 to January 1, 2026 at Back Beach (Vung Tau Ward).

Along with the central wards, many communes and wards of Ho Chi Minh City such as Dau Tieng, Xuan Son, Binh Khanh, Go Vap, Phu Thanh also organized art programs on the evening of December 31. In addition, many activities to welcome the New Year were held at the Youth Cultural House, universities, colleges, vocational schools, dormitories, export processing zones, industrial parks, etc.

To welcome the New Year, Ho Chi Minh City decorated the central streets with artistic lighting.

At the headquarters of the City People's Committee, the City Theater, the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts and the City Post Office , decorative lighting systems will also be simultaneously opened to serve the people.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Sports - the standing agency of the Organizing Committee for the celebration of major holidays in the City, to preside over the inspection and coordinate the implementation of the plan.

Departments, branches and localities will ensure security and order, fire safety, traffic flow and promptly handle situations arising at event venues./.
