Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh, along with leaders of departments and branches attended the meeting.

On the side of the working delegation were Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam; Tran Hong Thai, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

The meeting aimed to strengthen diplomatic relations, solidarity and friendship between the two sides. This was also an opportunity for the two sides to seek partners for agricultural export cooperation, and learn from each other’s experiences in the fields of tourism, culture and health.

At the meeting, Lam Dong departments and branches proposed many important contents such as: Promoting cooperation in the field of medicinal herbs, serving scientific research activities; encouraging Cuban investors and businesses to come and explore investment opportunities in Lam Dong in areas of Cuba's strengths such as biomedical technology, tourism, healthcare, education...

The parties facilitated and supported the connection of Lam Dong province with Cuban partners, aiming to implement trade promotion activities for some typical agricultural products of the province such as: Artichoke tea, Oolong tea, and medicinal herbs.

At the meeting, Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Lam Dong province. The information on socio-economic development, as well as difficulties and obstacles that the locality exchanged helped the delegation grasp in a timely manner.

The sharing and discussions between the two sides in the past have not yet achieved the expected results. We are committed to cooperating with Lam Dong with specific goals and projects to implement in practice in the coming time.

Recently, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has coordinated with the Green Economy Institute to connect, share information, and cooperate with a number of Cuban agencies, organizations, and businesses. The two sides have suggested and proposed a number of policies in the transfer, research, development, and commercialization of biotechnology and biomedicine in Lam Dong province.

Many fields have been researched and cooperated by both sides such as: High-tech agriculture and applied biotechnology; biomass energy and circular economy; tourism and culture; water resources management and climate change adaptation; education and public health, etc. However, the implementation has encountered many difficulties, leading to cooperation results not being as expected.

Concluding the working session, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi emphasized that although the meeting time was not much, today's connection will be a premise for future cooperation between the two sides.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee respectfully thanked the delegation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam for visiting Lam Dong. The delegation suggested to the province very valuable contents, suitable to the conditions and potential of the province to promote in the coming time.

Lam Dong commits to implement the contents that the two sides have shared, discussed and agreed upon so far. After this working session, the locality wishes to organize more professional and specialized working sessions between the departments, branches and units of the two sides, thereby concretizing the shared content. We are always ready at any time in terms of time and location to welcome units to Lam Dong.
