Comrade Luu Van Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Lam Dong province, term X, 2021 - 2026.

The meeting was chaired and directed by the Standing Committee members of Lam Dong Provincial People's Council.

Speaking at the session, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam emphasized: The 5th session of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council, term X, took place at a very important time when Lam Dong had just successfully organized the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030 with many strategic orientations, creating a new political and ideological atmosphere for the entire Party Committee, People and armed forces in the province.

He pointed out that this is the second session after the Congress, which is meaningful in concretizing the direction of the Provincial Party Congress Resolution into the practice of operating local government with specific mechanisms and policies, solving urgent issues in the immediate future, to contribute to accelerating and breaking through socio-economic development in the province in 2025 and the 2025-2030 term.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested that the People's Council, the Standing Committee of the People's Council, and the Provincial People's Council delegates should fully promote the spirit and responsibility of delegates, respect the principle of democratic centralism, and objectively decide on the dismissal of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, the dismissal of the Provincial People's Council delegates, and the consolidation of the leadership of the Provincial People's Council by electing an additional Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, in accordance with legal regulations, ensuring the principle of comprehensive leadership of the Party Committee, contributing to perfecting the leadership and operation mechanism of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council voted to elect the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

In addition, continue to strengthen the members of the Provincial People's Committee by electing additional members of the Provincial People's Committee for the Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, based on the introduction of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the delegates voted to elect comrade Luu Van Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Lam Dong province.

As a result, the Provincial People's Council unanimously elected comrade Luu Van Trung to hold the position of Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council, term X, 2021 - 2026.

Previously, the Provincial People's Council considered and resolved to dismiss comrade Tran Hong Thai from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council according to regulations, so that he could take on a new assignment and hold the position of Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

The meeting also passed a resolution to dismiss comrade Nguyen Hoai Anh from the position of Provincial People's Council delegate according to regulations. Previously, he took on a new job and held the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province.

Also at the Session, the Provincial People's Council voted to elect additional members of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term for comrade Hoang Van Bang, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of Lam Dong Department of Foreign Affairs according to the submission of the Provincial People's Committee.

Provincial Party Secretary Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam presented flowers to congratulate comrade Luu Van Trung on being elected by the Provincial People's Council to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; presented flowers to comrade Tran Hong Thai who stopped working as a delegate of the Provincial People's Council to take on a new assignment.

Speaking at the ceremony to accept the assignment, comrade Luu Van Trung was extremely moved and deeply aware that this was a great honor and also a heavy responsibility that the Party Committee, government and people of the province had trusted and entrusted him with.

He expressed his deep gratitude to the Central Party Secretariat, the Provincial Party Executive Committee, the Provincial Party Standing Committee, especially the Provincial Party Secretary; and the Provincial People's Council delegates for their attention, trust and confidence in assigning him this important responsibility.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi presented flowers to congratulate the new Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Luu Van Trung and congratulated comrade Hoang Van Bang on being elected as a member of the Provincial People's Committee and Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

In his new position, he promised to work with the Standing Committee of the People's Council and the People's Council's committees to continue to preserve and promote the spirit of solidarity and unity, inheriting the valuable results and experiences of previous localities. At the same time, he would closely coordinate with the People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and agencies, units and localities to successfully complete the common tasks.

He also said that he will continuously innovate and improve the effectiveness of the People's Council's operations, ensuring publicity, transparency, effectiveness and efficiency; listen to and honestly and promptly reflect the thoughts and aspirations of voters and the people; strengthen supervision of the implementation of resolutions, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, ensuring political stability, national defense and security in the province.
