Expressing his belief that the era of Vietnam's rise will begin with the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam , Nguyen Hong Phuc, a PhD candidate at Zhejiang University and Deputy Secretary of the Vietnamese Student Party Branch in Shanghai, China, hopes that the Congress's decisions will quickly be implemented, creating conditions for Vietnamese intellectuals abroad to continue contributing to the country's development.
In an interview with a reporter from Nhan Dan Newspaper based in China, Nguyen Hong Phuc, a doctoral student at Zhejiang University, Deputy Secretary of the Vietnamese Student Party Branch in Shanghai, Vice President of the Vietnamese Student Association in Zhejiang, and member of the Party Committee in China, stated that the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam is a momentous political event for the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army, with particularly important significance in the country's development process.
The Congress is tasked with reviewing the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Congress, in conjunction with evaluating the results and affirming the achievements of the past term, 40 years of carrying out the reform process, and 35 years of implementing the Platform for building the country during the transitional period to socialism (1991). From this, lessons and experiences will be drawn; directions and tasks for socio-economic development in the next five years will be set, and goals, directions, and a vision for national development until the middle of this century will be determined.
In particular, the Congress will elect the 14th Central Committee, comprising comrades who are truly outstanding in terms of political qualities, revolutionary ethics, leadership capacity, fortitude, and intellect, capable of meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable national development and firmly defending the Fatherland, charting a path of development for Vietnam in a world situation with many major changes in security and economy.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Phuc emphasized that our country has accumulated a combined strength from previous periods, especially during the reform process; combined with the experience of pioneering countries that have become developed nations after successful industrialization within just two to three decades; and harnessing the immense spiritual motivation of over 100 million Vietnamese people determined to build a more prosperous and beautiful country in the new era. The achievements of epochal significance from the era of independence and freedom, and the great and historically significant achievements of the reform and development era, create a solid foundation for Vietnam to enter a period of rapid development, transforming itself into a developed nation.
Sharing his expectations regarding the policies discussed and adopted at this Congress, Mr. Nguyen Hong Phuc stated that the 14th Congress's adoption of contents directly related to Vietnamese youth and intellectuals abroad, the development of science and technology, and education demonstrates the Party and State's consistent view that youth and intellectuals abroad are an inseparable part of the country, and reflects the importance placed on talent training both domestically and internationally, strongly promoting the role and potential of Vietnamese people abroad, especially the youth and intellectuals who possess talent and a mission to participate in building and developing the country.
From the perspective of a student and young Party member studying abroad, Mr. Nguyen Hong Phuc hopes that the decisions of the 14th National Congress will quickly be implemented comprehensively and effectively, so that Vietnamese intellectual youth abroad in general, and in China in particular, can make practical contributions; and to promote the role of Vietnamese youth and intellectuals as a bridge in foreign relations with youth, intellectuals, and people around the world. Mr. Nguyen Hong Phuc expressed his wish that the Party and State would pay attention to and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese students and the Vietnamese community in China to play an important role in Vietnam-China people-to-people diplomacy, a crucial connecting resource, a cultural ambassador, promoting the image of Vietnam and its people, contributing to connecting people and fostering people-to-people exchanges to build a solid foundation for friendly relations between the two countries.
