On September 17, 2024, in Quang Ngai, a workshop was held to summarize the project "Supporting sustainable livelihoods for farmers towards a circular economy " organized by the People's Committee of Son Tay district (Quang Ngai province), ADM Group and World Vision International in Vietnam.
Located 80 km from Quang Ngai city, Son Tay district has a poverty rate of over 30%, significantly higher than the national average of 2.93%. Faced with this situation, ADM and World Vision International in Vietnam have joined the People's Committee of Son Tay district to address the urgent situation facing local households with children, with a sustainable livelihood project starting in early 2024.
After more than six months of implementation, the project “Supporting sustainable livelihoods for households towards a circular economy” has enhanced the livestock farming capacity of households, helping them improve their livelihoods. The project initially provided 47 households with 4,700 day-old chicks, feed and housing materials. In addition, these households also participated in training sessions to improve livestock farming techniques with the consultation of ADM technical staff.
The project achieved three main objectives: improving bio-bedding farming techniques for disadvantaged households, improving their financial literacy, and connecting them to strong output markets.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Gerald Wilflingseder, President of ADM Animal Nutrition Asia Pacific , emphasized: “This project reaffirms our commitment to sustainable agriculture and community development. By supporting initiatives that increase farmers’ income and improve their quality of life, we are committed to ensuring food security and nutrition for the most vulnerable communities.” |
Vice Chairman of Son Tay District, Mr. Dinh Truong Giang said: “Households participating in the project in Son Tay have been exposed to new farming methods, helping to increase productivity, improve product quality and minimize negative impacts on the environment. In addition, the mindset of each individual and household participating in the project has also changed. Developing the family economy through sustainable agricultural production has gradually been formed in people's thinking, this is a very important thing.”
Mr. Doseba Tua Sinay, Chief Representative of World Vision International in Vietnam shared, “World Vision always strives to improve the well-being of children, especially the most vulnerable children. Through this project, we focus on supporting households with children and those with difficult economic conditions. In the coming time, World Vision Vietnam will continue to seek opportunities to expand and replicate this model, not only in Son Tay but also in many other localities, with the hope of contributing to improving the lives of more households. We look forward to continuing to receive support and cooperation from the government, partners, and all people.”
