Affirming the role as an important growth pole of the country
Dong Nai's economic picture in 2025 ends with a bright and optimistic tone. GRDP in the fourth quarter increased by 10.73% (ranked 4th in the country) , contributing to the whole year's growth reaching 9.63% compared to 2024 - exceeding 1.13 percentage points compared to the Government's target (8.5%) and ranking first in the country in achieving the growth target.
Dong Nai ranked 7th in the country in terms of GRDP growth rate and continued to lead the Southeast region, affirming its role as one of the important growth poles of the region and the country.
This outstanding achievement was achieved thanks to the strong leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee; the synchronous coordination of departments and branches such as Finance, Industry and Trade, Statistics, Customs, Tax... and the efforts of the business community.
Management agencies have promptly provided policy advice, resolved difficulties, supported businesses in recovering production, and controlled and effectively used resources. Administrative reform and digital transformation have been promoted, many procedures have been simplified, thereby opening up FDI capital flows and domestic resources, creating an important driving force for the province's economy to accelerate.
Industry - Construction: Main growth driver, accounting for 56.54% of GRDP
Industrial and construction sector : continues to play the role of "locomotive" for GRDP growth of the whole province.
Estimated growth in the fourth quarter of 2025 is 13.57%, of which industry increases by 11.98%. For the whole year, this sector increases by 11.52%, with industry alone increasing by 10.42%.
Key industries such as textiles, footwear, and metal production recorded impressive growth rates from 7.2% to 20.77%.
Many businesses have recovered strongly thanks to abundant orders as the world market improves and thanks to the flexible operating environment and timely support from the Government and local authorities.
2025 also marks a leap forward for the electricity production and distribution industry with an increase of 19.29%. The biggest highlight is that Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Power Plants will officially operate from the third quarter of 2025, adding a large supply to the national electricity system. In addition, many industries have impressive growth rates.
The construction industry has made a breakthrough with an increase of 21.69% thanks to a series of key national projects such as: Long Thanh International Airport - expected to be operational on December 19, 2025. The airport can serve 100 million passengers/year, opening up the expectation of becoming the largest airport in Southeast Asia, competing directly with Changi (Singapore) and Suvarnabhumi (Thailand);
Phuoc An Port - the strategic logistics gateway of the Southeast region, flexibly connecting with Ho Chi Minh City and the regional seaport system has officially come into operation. The port will reduce the load on transportation routes, promote logistics services and create a strong attraction for investment capital flows into industrial parks and neighboring localities. Important transport infrastructure projects are being urgently implemented.
These widespread infrastructure projects, along with many key transport projects that are being urgently implemented, create great growth potential for the coming period.
Service sector: increased by 10.57% in the fourth quarter and 9.39% for the whole year thanks to improved income, strong consumption, and the development of logistics, information technology and many other service sectors. Some factors that contributed to the outstanding growth were:
People's income increases, stimulating spending on retail - food - entertainment - transportation - accommodation.
The holiday season always creates high consumer motivation.
Exports, information technology services, and logistics increased thanks to improved global demand and expanding markets.
Many policies to stimulate consumption and support small and medium enterprises are effective.
Administrative procedure reform helps service industries operate faster and more effectively.
Agriculture, forestry and fishery sector: increased by 1.49% in the fourth quarter and 3.22% for the whole year - the lowest in the structure of the three economic sectors.
Main reasons: Livestock farming faces difficulties in costs and diseases; agricultural land area is shrinking due to urbanization and industrial development; despite low growth, this sector still plays an important role in stabilizing food supply, social security and balancing the province's economic structure.
Dong Nai continues to affirm its position as a locomotive for sustainable development with GRDP growth in 2025 exceeding the target assigned by the Government, leading the Southeast region and being among the leading groups in the country. Dong Nai has demonstrated the resilience, endurance and strong adaptability of the economy.
The strategic infrastructure system is increasingly complete, administrative reform is promoted, the investment and business environment continues to be attractive, the business community is dynamic... All of these create the foundation for Dong Nai to enter a new development phase: faster growth, more sustainable and more competitive in the region.
