Accordingly, the patient is Mr. HVL (33 years old, residing in Trang Bom commune) who works as a freelance trader at the market. On November 24, Mr. L. developed ulcers in several areas of his body and had a fever. On November 28, the patient went to the Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital for examination, had samples taken for testing and sent to the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City and the results were positive for monkeypox virus.
After being treated by the Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital, the ulcers and infections have stabilized, the wound has dried, and the patient has returned to normal activities. The patient said that he only lives with his sister's family in Trang Bom commune and has not had contact with foreigners. The patient did not have a sexual partner or homosexual relationship before the onset of the disease, so the source of the infection is still unknown.
Regarding the case, medical staff are investigating the epidemic and instructing the patient and those in close contact to regularly monitor their health, wear masks, and regularly clean and sanitize their homes.
