Dong Nai learns from experience in developing collective economy and cooperatives

(DN) - From November 12 to 15, the delegation to study experiences in developing collective economy and cooperatives, led by Mr. Do Phuoc Dung, Chairman of the Cooperative Union of Dong Nai province, visited and learned experiences from a number of models of developing collective economy and cooperatives in Ca Mau.

The delegation included leaders and experts from departments, offices and units under the Provincial Cooperative Union; officers in charge of collective economy from departments, branches and directors of 7 cooperatives in Dong Nai province.

During the working trip, the delegation visited some typical models of Ca Mau province: Bon Bon Minh Duy Cooperative in Hung My commune, the main field of activity is producing and processing bon bon. The cooperative has created a 3-star OCOP bon bon melon specialty, creating jobs for local women and spreading the value of clean agricultural products, diversifying products from bon bon plants, with an annual income of 100 million VND/ha, contributing to improving the lives of members.

The delegation visited the Dat Phuong Nam Community Ecotourism and Service Cooperative in Dat Mui Commune. With the advantage of a diverse and rich ecosystem, especially the Ca Mau Cape National Park, which is recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve, it is a condition for Ca Mau province to develop a green tourism model and community ecotourism. The cooperative has 9 members, with a charter capital of 2 billion VND. Accordingly, households take advantage of the water surface to raise aquatic and seafood products, with unique culinary dishes of the river region. Households doing community tourism also invest in building rooms for tourists to stay overnight and participate in experiential activities.

Through exchange and practical activities to create conditions to help cadres and civil servants improve the effectiveness of management and operation; flexibly apply preferential policies to support the operations of cooperatives, implement good and effective models of collective and cooperative economic development as well as apply lessons learned through study trips to develop collective and cooperative economies. Thereby, enhancing the value and sustainable development of collective and cooperative economies in the coming time.
