Dong Nai launches Action Month for gender equality in 2025

Nearly 200 delegates representing leaders of departments, branches, sectors, units and leaders of 95 wards and communes in the province; neighborhoods and students in Tran Bien ward participated.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Ha Thanh Tung emphasized: The launching ceremony is an important event, affirming the determination and responsibility of the entire political system and the whole society in implementing the goal of gender equality, a key factor for sustainable development and improving the quality of life of the people. This is also a peak communication campaign, aiming to raise awareness and promote the actions of the entire political system and all classes of people to respond and participate.

In recent years, the Party Committee and the government of Dong Nai province have strengthened leadership and direction in implementing gender equality work with many key and practical programs and plans, achieving positive results. Up to now, 100% of victims of gender violence have access to support services; the maternal mortality rate related to pregnancy has decreased to only 5.9/100 thousand cases, much lower than the national target; 99% of the province's population has had access to information and basic knowledge on gender equality through many forms and multimedia... Dong Nai women are increasingly promoting their role and position in the innovation of the country in general and Dong Nai province in particular.

However, gender inequality and gender-based violence still exist in many different forms. Women and girls also face many new risks such as: harassment, violence, and abuse in cyberspace; taking advantage of technology to spread information and images that offend human dignity and honor; gender gaps in access to information technology and digital job opportunities...

In order for the Action Month for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence in 2025 in Dong Nai province, which takes place from November 15 to December 15, to be effectively implemented, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Ha Thanh Tung requested all levels and sectors in the political system to step up propaganda and dissemination of laws on gender equality and prevention of gender-based violence, especially in the online environment. At the launching ceremony, a convoy of motorbikes and mobile propaganda vehicles with banners and slogans paraded on main roads from Bien Hung Park, through 30-4, Cach Mang Thang Tam, Vo Thi Sau, Duong Tu Giang, Nguyen Ai Quoc, Dong Khoi streets and returned to Bien Hung Park.
