This directive is implemented based on the Prime Minister 's official dispatch on strengthening vaccination and measures to prevent and control polio nationwide.
Following the directive, departments, agencies, organizations, and units are focusing on strengthening leadership and guidance, and disseminating information to officials, civil servants, and employees regarding the implementation of polio prevention and control measures. At the same time, they are stepping up propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people to proactively implement preventive measures, avoiding complacency and negligence in disease prevention and control.
The Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Health to strengthen guidance and support for affiliated units and vaccination facilities in implementing polio vaccination; accelerate catch-up vaccinations for children; strengthen surveillance of acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) and environmental monitoring in high-risk areas; promptly investigate and handle outbreaks; update information and recommendations for disease prevention; and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to carry out communication work.
In addition, the Department of Health organizes training and updates knowledge for healthcare workers; reviews and ensures sufficient resources to be ready to respond to disease outbreaks; establishes inspection and monitoring teams to support lower-level units and acts as the focal point for monitoring, compiling, reporting, and advising the Provincial People's Committee on directing polio prevention and control work in the province.
The education sector is required to strengthen its guidance to educational institutions in implementing polio prevention and control measures according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health; coordinate efforts to encourage families to have their children fully vaccinated on schedule and review students' vaccination history to carry out catch-up vaccinations as prescribed.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio and Television, are focusing on providing complete and accurate information about the disease situation, recommending that families take their children for full and timely vaccinations, and preventing and addressing inaccurate information about polio.
The People's Committees of communes and wards should proactively monitor the disease situation in their areas, strengthen inspection and supervision, direct health stations to review and administer catch-up vaccinations for children, update information, ensure resources, promote communication, organize inter-agency inspections, and report promptly to the Provincial People's Committee for guidance and handling.
