Dong Nai attends workshop to introduce local innovation index

(DN) - On December 2, in Hanoi, the Department of Innovation (Ministry of Science and Technology) organized a technical workshop to introduce the local innovation index set for 2025 (PII 2025).

Attending the workshop were Deputy Director of the Department of Innovation ( Ministry of Science and Technology ) Chu Thuc Dat and representatives of ministries, branches and localities nationwide. Dong Nai province had Mr. Vo Hoang Khai, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology attend the workshop.

At the workshop, representatives of the Department of Innovation introduced the PII 2025 Index Framework, data sources and participation of relevant parties; data processing process and calculation methods, results and use of PII 2025 results...

The PII index comprehensively and objectively reflects the socio -economic development picture based on science, technology and innovation of each locality, including Dong Nai province. The index points out strengths and weaknesses; at the same time, identifies the potential and necessary conditions to promote innovation.

The PII Index 2025 has 52 indicators, divided into 7 pillars (according to the principles of the GII Index - Global Innovation Index). The PII Index becomes an important tool to help localities plan policies and development strategies in the coming time.

According to the PII Index results in 2025, Hanoi city leads the country with a total score of 65.68. This is also the third consecutive year that Hanoi has held the leading position. Ho Chi Minh City is ranked 2nd, Quang Ninh province is ranked 3rd, Hai Phong and Hue cities are ranked 4th and 5th respectively. Dong Nai province ranks 12th out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of PII Index with 44.92 points. In particular, Dong Nai province has high scores and rankings nationwide in the pillars including: infrastructure pillar (ranked 4th), market development level pillar (ranked 5th), impact pillar (ranked 4th)...
