Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City establish Regional Connectivity Working Group

(DN) - The People's Committee of Dong Nai province and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City have announced the conclusions of comrade Nguyen Van Duoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and comrade Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province on traffic connection between the two localities.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City continue to inherit and implement the contents that have been signed and discussed among the provinces of Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Ba Ria - Vung Tau , Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City before the merger to ensure regional connectivity, especially in the field of transport infrastructure.

Establishment of the Working Group for Regional Connection between Dong Nai Province and Ho Chi Minh City (Working Group). The Head of the Working Group is Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; the Deputy Head of the Working Group is Mr. Ho Van Ha, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee. The members of the Working Group include leaders of the Departments of Construction, Finance, Agriculture and Environment; leaders of relevant sectors and People's Committees of wards and communes of the two localities.

The working group is responsible for developing a plan to implement connection projects in the period 2025-2030, identifying specific tasks for each year and each quarter, building a gantt chart, and arranging the priority order of implementation of the projects. In particular, it is necessary to apply smart technology and digitize data in management and supervision so that the Standing Committees of the two localities can promptly monitor and direct.

Dong Nai Province and Ho Chi Minh City prioritize local budget resources to implement regional connectivity projects. In addition, it is necessary to consider additional non-budgetary capital sources to implement with diverse investment forms according to regulations. Developing regional connectivity is not only to solve immediate traffic problems, but also to reorganize development space, reasonably allocate growth poles, reduce pressure on central urban areas and create spillover momentum. Connecting traffic projects must be placed in the overall connection with Long Thanh International Airport and Tan Son Nhat Airport, seaport systems, logistics networks and urban areas and industrial parks. Review and supplement the planning of new connection locations between the two localities in the new development context and space.

Dong Nai Province and Ho Chi Minh City agreed: Every 6 months, the two localities will meet once to review and evaluate implementation results and orient upcoming contents.

Previously, on October 21, 2025, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee had a working session on traffic connection between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province.
