According to a report from the Cao Lanh City Medical Center, at around 3 p.m. on April 6, 33 students, teachers and university students had symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea after attending the event. Previously, the STEM Education Festival event was held on April 6 at Dong Thap University, attracting more than 4,000 students and teachers from 70 high schools in six provinces and cities: Can Tho, Hau Giang , Soc Trang, An Giang, Vinh Long and Dong Thap.
Through epidemiological investigation, the students had lunch from about 10:30 to 12:00, with meals provided by a food business in Ward 1, Cao Lanh City.
