Responding to the Month of Action for Gender Equality (GBE) and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence (abbreviated as the Month of Action) in 2025 with the theme "GBE and Safety for Women (W) and Girls (Girls) in the Digital Age", from November 15 to December 15, 2025, the Department of Home Affairs and localities will carry out many propaganda activities and disseminate knowledge about GBE, contributing to raising people's understanding of GBE and promoting GBE for W and Girls.

RAISING UNDERSTANDING OF GENDER EQUALITY

The atmosphere was lively and exciting at the session to disseminate knowledge about gender equality and prevention of sexual abuse (XHTD) for 70 students in grades 8 and 9 at Hoi An Dong Secondary School (An Thanh Dong hamlet, My An Hung commune) organized by the Department of Home Affairs. This was an activity in response to the Action Month.

Head of the Department of Government Construction - Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy propagates gender equality knowledge to students of Hoi An Dong Secondary School (My An Hung commune).

At the communication session, students were presented with many practical contents on gender equality and prevention of child abuse by Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Head of the Department of Government Construction - Department of Home Affairs.

Especially through short video clips with stories containing gender stereotypes such as: Men are supposed to do hard work and take care of the family, while women are not; men are good at sports , while women are bad; cooking and cleaning the house are the wife's job, while the husband only takes care of social work; or TE girls have to dress modestly and femininely...

Comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy analyzed to help students recognize the manifestations, prejudices, and gender discrimination against men and women that lead to gender inequality in the family and in the learning environment. This inequality creates many disadvantages for women. From there, it helps students improve their knowledge and understanding of the role and importance of gender equality.

In addition, students were divided into teams to participate in knowledge games answering multiple choice questions related to the topic of Action Month; signs of sexual abuse of children... In addition, comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy also educated students about the consequences, how to identify, prevent and combat sexual abuse of children.

Tran Hoang Kim, a student of class 9/3, Hoi An Dong Secondary School, shared: “The communication session helped me gain more knowledge about gender equality so that I know how to behave appropriately between men and women, and not discriminate. I will go home and spread the word to my relatives not to favor men over women to ensure gender equality in the family.”

“What I liked most at the media session was watching a video clip about the prejudice between men and women. Through that, it helped me realize that we need to eliminate discrimination against men and women to create equality in society,” said Tran Hoang Khang, class 8/2, Hoi An Dong Secondary School.

Not only disseminating knowledge about gender equality to school-age children, during the Action Month, the Department of Home Affairs, communes and wards organized many training classes on gender equality for local families. In particular, some communes and wards organized knowledge exchanges on gender equality in the launching ceremony of the Action Month in the locality.

Head of the Front Working Committee of Tinh Thoi hamlet, Cao Lanh ward, Tran Thi Thi Tho, answered questions about gender equality at the launching ceremony.

In Cao Lanh ward, at the launching ceremony of the Action Month, people, union members, and youths had the opportunity to interact and answer questions about the topic of the Action Month, the consequences of gender inequality in the family...

Ms. Le Thi Giau (Tinh Thoi hamlet, Cao Lanh ward) said: "At the launching ceremony on gender equality of the ward, the staff talked to me about gender equality between husband and wife in the family, especially the knowledge exchange part which helped me better understand the meaning of gender equality so that I can proactively implement it in my family."

Head of the Front Work Committee of Tinh Thoi hamlet, Cao Lanh ward, Tran Thi Thi Tho, said: In Tinh Thoi hamlet, the functional sector regularly organizes activities on gender equality and progress for women.

Attending this launching ceremony, I updated my new knowledge about gender equality and the manifestations of gender inequality in the family to propagate to local people to raise awareness about gender equality, contributing to doing a good job of gender equality in the hamlet."

PROMOTING GENDER EQUALITY FOR WOMEN

Responding to the Action Month, the Department of Home Affairs advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a plan to organize the Action Month in 2025 and deploy it to localities for implementation, guiding localities to promote the dissemination of the messages of the Action Month: Gender equality and safety in cyberspace start with ourselves; zero tolerance for harassment and violence against women in cyberspace...

Students of Hoi An Dong Secondary School (My An Hung Commune) participated in a question-and-answer game about gender equality and child abuse at a communication session organized by the Department of Home Affairs.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Head of the Department of Government Construction - Department of Home Affairs, said: "The main activity of the Action Month is to organize the provincial launching ceremony in 3 wards: My Tho, Cao Lanh and Hong Ngu. The Department of Home Affairs has deployed 3 units to organize the launching ceremony to implement the Action Month.

Along with that, the Department of Home Affairs organized 29 communication classes on gender equality for children under 16 years old in the whole province; before that, it organized 40 communication classes on gender equality for households with children of gender equality age.

At the communication classes, the Department of Home Affairs propagates two main contents: gender equality and prevention of child sexual abuse. Thereby, helping children and parents improve their knowledge, change their awareness, promote the implementation of gender equality in the family and prevention of child sexual abuse. In addition, communes and wards build radio propaganda columns about the messages and themes of the Action Month.

In the communes and wards in the province, the activities to organize the Action Month have been at their peak in recent days. According to comrade Ho Hue Thu Hang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cao Lanh Ward, the ward organized the launching ceremony to respond to the Action Month with the participation of a large number of local people, union members and youth.

The ceremony took place with many practical contents such as: Screening video clips about the work of gender equality in the province in 2025; organizing a parade to promote gender equality on main roads in the ward...

Comrade Ho Hue Thu Hang said: “The launching ceremony of the Action Month is a milestone for the communication campaign on activities to promote gender equality and prevent and respond to gender-based violence in 2025 in Cao Lanh ward and across the province.

To effectively respond to the Action Month, the ward continues to develop a specific action plan to protect women and girls in the digital environment; integrate gender equality education in schools; encourage women and girls to improve digital skills and boldly denounce acts of abuse.

At the same time, strengthen the detection and handling of violent cases; step up inspection and supervision of the implementation of laws on gender equality, promptly commend collectives and individuals with effective models in gender equality work and digital transformation application...

In My Tho ward, according to the ward People's Committee, during the Action Month, the ward organized a launching ceremony to respond to the Action Month; promoted propaganda on the ward's radio about gender equality, prevention and control of domestic violence, and abuse of women and children; hung banners, billboards, and posters at the ward People's Committee headquarters, schools, and main roads in the ward. At the same time, posted news and articles on the ward's electronic information page about gender equality messages, protecting the safety of women and girls on the internet; integrated gender equality propaganda for union members and members through specialized activities of the ward's socio-political organizations.

“In the coming time, to effectively carry out gender equality work, the Department of Home Affairs will continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee to strengthen the Provincial and Commune-level Committees for Women's Advancement; implement communication plans to change and raise people's awareness of gender equality; develop skits and special topics on gender equality to be broadcast on television and radio; organize training for cadres and civil servants in charge of gender equality work in provincial departments, branches and commune-level People's Committees”, added Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Head of the Department of Government Construction - Department of Home Affairs.
