DOVECO: Changing technology towards a green environment

Participating in the exhibition of 80 years of tradition in the Agriculture and Environment sector, Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company (DOVECO) brought many products applying new technology.

In addition to traditional products, DOVECO also introduces to visitors two new products: Dong Giao sweet corn and Dong Giao pineapple juice - produced according to the policy of technological innovation towards a green environment.

The previous packaging technology used tin cans, which consumed a lot of energy in production, were difficult to process after use, and even had negative impacts on the ecosystem and human health. Now, DOVECO has switched to using Tetra Recart paper box packaging technology, which is more environmentally friendly - because it can be easily recycled and biodegradable.

Not only convenient in the post-use processing stage, packaging fruit and vegetable products in paper boxes also reduces carbon emissions during the production process, thanks to the use of renewable materials. This is an important step, affirming DOVECO's commitment to sustainable development in the value chain from production - processing - distribution.

Specifically, Dong Giao Sweet Corn product is packaged in a paper box with the specification of 380g/box with a kernel ratio of about 63%. The raw materials are completely natural, no preservatives or artificial colors are used.

The golden corn kernels are grown on the Moc Chau plateau, Son La , a land with a cool climate all year round, creating a unique sweetness and aroma. The product is processed and packaged in a paper box for vegetables by Tetra Pak Sweden, the first time in Vietnam, helping to preserve the natural flavor and nutrients.

Sweet corn is a convenient product that can be eaten immediately after opening the box or quickly processed into many dishes such as stir-fries, fried foods, salads, soups... to suit modern needs.

Also packaged using Tetra Pak Sweden's paper box technology, Dong Giao Pineapple Juice retains its fresh flavor and natural nutritional content. This is a product made from the famous MD2 pineapple variety, grown in the pineapple fields of Dong Giao ( Ninh Binh ), where the climate and soil are special, creating delicious, ripe pineapples.

Like corn, DOVECO fresh pineapple juice does not use flavorings, preservatives, or artificial colors. The product packaging is compact and easy to carry when going to work, traveling, or picnicking, convenient to use anytime, anywhere.

Currently, DOVECO's processing capacity reaches nearly 220,000 tons of products/year; total revenue in the 2020-2025 period exceeds 12,000 billion VND; export turnover is 436 million USD - numbers that speak of internal strength and continuous investment efficiency throughout the innovation journey.

From that modern production foundation, DOVECO products have confidently reached out to the world, conquering the market with stable quality and the ability to meet strict standards.

Currently, DOVECO's market spans more than 50 countries, conquering the most demanding markets such as Japan, EU, Australia, Israel; while maintaining growth momentum in the US, Middle East and expanding rapidly in Northeast Asia.

Domestically, domestic revenue reached over 1,100 billion VND, the distribution system covered major supermarkets Winmart, Big C, Co.opmart - proof of brand reputation and consumer trust.

In addition to pineapple, the company has also successfully tested new crops such as Nozawana mustard greens, pink bananas, chives, spinach, and expanded its raw material areas in Son La, the Northwestern provinces, the Central Highlands provinces, the Northern Delta provinces and the Central Coast, ensuring supply so that the three factories never run out of fresh materials.
