Factors such as weather, climate change and supply fluctuations continue to influence coffee prices. The El Nino phenomenon, expected to last until 2025, could impact major producing regions such as Brazil, Colombia and Vietnam, causing droughts that could impact yields and supply.
Global coffee production is forecast to fall by 8.5 million bags in 2025/26, if Brazil produces just 34.4 million bags of Arabica coffee next season. Unseasonal rains in Vietnam also affected the harvest and quality of coffee.
With the above factors, coffee prices on January 3, 2025 may continue to fluctuate. However, as the market is in a holiday period in many countries, transactions may be quiet and prices may not fluctuate much.
