Domestic pepper price forecast tomorrow, February 17, 2025, will increase slightly, remain stable and anchor at a high level.
Today's pepper price was updated on the afternoon of February 16, 2025 as follows: Domestic pepper price remained stable, unchanged compared to the previous trading session; the highest price was 160,000 VND/kg; the average pepper purchase price in key areas was 158,400 VND/kg.
Specifically, today's pepper price in Gia Lai province remained stable compared to the previous trading session, currently the pepper price is purchased at 157,000 VND/kg. Similarly, pepper price in Binh Phuoc is also purchased at 157,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province are higher, the purchasing price in this locality is 158,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, pepper prices in Dak Nong and Dak Lak provinces are at a high level and have the highest purchase price in the country, currently the purchase price in these two localities is 160,000 VND/kg.

Experts say pepper prices may continue to rise in the short term, especially if China, one of the largest customers of Vietnamese pepper, increases imports again. However, pepper prices may stagnate as supplies from the new harvest are gradually replenished.
Domestic pepper prices fluctuated strongly last week, skyrocketing by VND4,000 - 6,000/kg, surpassing VND160,000/kg in the middle of the week. However, pepper prices then fell for four consecutive days, falling to VND157,000 - 160,000/kg at the end of the week.
Summing up domestic pepper prices this week, the domestic pepper market increased by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg compared to last week and recorded the second consecutive week of price increase after Tet.

Regarding the international pepper market, according to the International Pepper Community (IPC), last week the price of Indonesian black pepper was listed at 7,294 USD/ton, a slight increase of 0.2% compared to the previous week. The price of Indonesian white pepper last week increased by 298 USD/ton, to 10,068 USD/ton.
Notably, the price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper increased sharply by 4.6% (equivalent to 300 USD/ton) last week, reaching 6,800 USD/ton. Meanwhile, the price of Malaysian black pepper remained stable at 9,000 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, the price of Vietnamese black pepper remains at the lowest level of 6,500 USD/ton for 500 g/l and 6,650 USD/ton for 550 g/l. Traders buy Vietnamese white pepper at a lower price than other markets at 9,550 USD/ton.
Currently, local farmers are focusing on harvesting pepper. However, pepper productivity in some areas is forecast to decrease due to weather effects.

Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC) on the afternoon of February 16, 2025 as follows: the market remains stable and anchored at a high level.
Specifically, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,294 USD/ton; Muntok white pepper is currently purchased at 10,068 USD/ton.
The Malaysian pepper market continues to remain stable and is anchored at a high level. Currently, the price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper is purchased at 9,000 USD/ton and the price of ASTA white pepper is at 11,600 USD/ton.
Pepper prices in Brazil remained stable compared to the previous increase, currently purchasing at 6,800 USD/ton.
The export market for Vietnamese pepper continues to be stable and slightly decreasing. Specifically, the export price of Vietnamese black pepper is currently at 6,500 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l is at 6,650 USD/ton; the price of white pepper is at 9,550 USD/ton.
