World oil market fluctuates slightly
According to a survey at 2:17 p.m. on July 14 (Vietnam time), WTI oil price increased by 0.38 USD/barrel to 68.83 USD/barrel, up 0.56% compared to the previous session. Similarly, Brent oil price also increased by 0.35 USD/barrel to 70.71 USD/barrel, up 0.50%.
Oil prices rose slightly more than 2% on Monday from the end of last week, but investors said rising Saudi Arabian output and ongoing tariff uncertainty limited gains.
Gasoline price forecast to decrease, oil price to increase in adjustment period on July 17
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the world oil market during the period from July 3 to July 9, 2025 was affected by many main factors, including escalating tensions in the Red Sea region, information about the US's new import tax policy on goods from trading partners, increasing US crude oil inventories, and the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
These factors have caused world oil prices to fluctuate up and down in recent days depending on the product.
A representative of a petroleum business said that domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period on July 17, retail petroleum prices may be slightly adjusted in the direction of decreasing gasoline prices and increasing oil prices, but the fluctuations will not be significant.
Specifically, the price of RON 95-III gasoline is forecast to decrease by about 50 VND/liter, E5 RON 92-II gasoline by about 60 VND/liter, while diesel oil may increase by about 10 VND/liter.
Experts say the upcoming adjustment will not have a significant impact on the market due to the small amplitude of change.
Domestic retail gasoline prices on July 14, 2025 will be applied according to the adjustment session from 3:00 p.m. on July 10 by the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade.
In this adjustment session, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by VND 214/liter to VND 19,659/liter, the price of RON 95-III gasoline increased by VND 184/liter to VND 20,090/liter.
Prices of oil products fluctuated in opposite directions, with diesel 0.05S priced at VND18,837/liter (up VND429/liter), kerosene at a new price of VND18,371/liter (up VND239/liter), and fuel oil at VND15,563/kg (down VND244/kg).
