On the afternoon of November 14, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warned that a strong cold air mass is moving southward from the North.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that around November 17, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast and North Central regions, then affect the Northwest and North Central regions. On land, strong Northeast winds will be at level 3-4, and coastal areas at level 4-5.
According to the meteorological agency, due to the impact of cold air, from November 17 to 18, the North will have rain again. From the night of November 17, the North and North Central regions will turn cold. The lowest temperature in the North and North Central regions from November 18 will be only 12-15 degrees Celsius, in the highlands below 10 degrees Celsius; the temperature in Hanoi during this cold air will be only 13-15 degrees Celsius (very cold threshold).
This is a strong cold spell that has had a deep impact on the South Central region. From November 18, the sea area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai has strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, with waves 4-6m high. Due to the strengthening cold air combined with disturbances in the upper easterly wind zone, the area from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa has had widespread heavy rain.
