According to reports, at around 2 AM on January 24th, immediately after the dramatic penalty shootout victory that secured third place for the Vietnam U23 team at the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Championship, thousands of Da Nang residents poured into the streets to celebrate, creating a vibrant night in the city center.
Crowds of people gradually gathered on major roads such as Le Duan, Dien Bien Phu, Nguyen Van Linh, Dragon Bridge, and Han River Bridge… Many motorbikes moved slowly in a long line, and red flags with yellow stars covered many streets.
Sharing in the joy of victory, many people brought national flags, banners, and horns to cheer. Notably, many young people also brought pots and pans to bang on, creating a rhythmic sound and adding to the lively celebratory atmosphere.
The shouts of "Vietnam champions!" and "Vietnam wins!" echoed continuously, stirring up excitement throughout the region.
Joining the large crowd at the foot of the Dragon Bridge, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam (a resident of Hoa Khanh ward) said that this was a very well-deserved and incredibly emotional victory for the Vietnamese U23 team.

“The match was dramatic until the very last minute. Right after the penalty shootout ended, I was overwhelmed with emotion because our U23 team fought bravely and achieved a dream victory. Unable to contain my joy, I and my friends joined the crowds pouring onto the main streets to celebrate,” Tâm shared.
Around 3 AM, crowds were still gathered in the area around the Dragon Bridge and 29-3 Square. Most people obeyed traffic lights, significantly reducing congestion.
Due to the sudden surge in people and vehicles, traffic police and public order police were deployed at many key intersections to manage traffic flow and ensure security and order. Many foreign tourists also excitedly used their phones to record this moment.
