On the morning of February 10 (the first day of Tet), the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City organized a welcoming ceremony for tourist groups arriving on the first day of the new year.
Accordingly, at 6:15 a.m. the same day, a Vietnam Airlines flight from Don Mueang (Thailand) landed at Da Nang International Airport.
The city organized a lion dance performance at the international arrivals hall to welcome the first guests and gave special gifts to tourists.
In particular, visitors on this first flight to Da Nang will be able to participate in the "picking spring fortune" program right at the airport. The gifts are vouchers for local attractions and entertainment venues such as Asia Park and Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park.
Three lucky guests received round-trip air tickets from Don Mueang to Da Nang by Vietnam Airlines along with tourism products of the city.
After the above flight, the Da Nang tourism industry also organized to welcome domestic tourists from Hanoi and the flight from Taipei (Taiwan, China). Tourists were given souvenirs such as conical hats, ginger jam, grilled coconut cakes, etc.
On the first day of the Lunar New Year 2024, Da Nang airport welcomed a total of 125 domestic and international flights, estimated at more than 17,000 passengers. Of which, there were 53 international flights with about 7,500 passengers.
On the same morning, the Da Nang Department of Tourism also welcomed the first international cruise ship to Tien Sa port with more than 1,800 Chinese tourists. Tourists on board experienced Da Nang city for 2 days with activities to visit famous areas and spots such as Ngu Hanh Son scenic spot, Linh Ung Son Tra pagoda, Da Nang Cham Museum...
During the 2024 Lunar New Year, the total number of visitors to Da Nang is estimated to reach nearly 362,000, an increase of 23% over the same period in 2023. Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach 172,000.
